Manor Operatic Society has been successful since 1966 and has been fortunate to be able to support many local charities along the way. Brian Platts is still a Trustee and Director of the Society and was awarded the MBE in 2000 for services to Manor Operatic Society. We still have a few of the original group (two of whom are over 90 years old). We hope to continue to perform spectacular and lavish productions, as in the past, which have included camels, horses and cows, together with high wire trapeze acts, and even a brass band on stage.

Masham Players

We stage a variety of comedy and drama-usually two performances a year in the Spring and Autumn supplemented at times with one act plays.
Our membership is drawn from a variety of backgrounds and ranges in ages from 16 to over 60!
We rehearse a couple of times a week when a performance is looming, usually at Masham Town Hall where we stage our shows.
Masham is a beautiful market town in glorious North Yorkshire and boasts (among other things), two breweries, a huge annual sheep fair, steam rally and other cultural shows and events.
As well as a thriving membership, we are not adverse to borrowing people from other groups, nor to working with other groups and this provides us with a fresh impetus.
We can be contacted via info@mashamplayers.co.uk or see what we are up to via our website

A friendly, welcoming, church G&S group. We perform at Dronfield Civic and always welcome new faces
We are looking for new members. If you are interested please contact us or come along to rehearsals at our new church building Meersbrook Park United Reformed Church & Centre Chesterfield Road, every Friday at 7.30pm
The Society was formed in 1926 for the young people of Meersbrook Park Congregational Church. Over the years we have become one of the few societies that solely present the Gilbert and Sullivan comic operas.
The shows used to be presented in the 'tin hut' on Chesterfield Road and then in the schoolroom off Beeton Road. However just over 10 years ago our church was condemned and we moved to Norton Parish Hall. A few years later this was sold and houses are now on the site. We then moved to our current location at Dronfield Civic Centre. The society is open to anyone who would like to be involved either on stage or behind the scenes, just contact us via our website or social media

One of Sheffield's top amdram societies.
We've been a staple of the Sheffield amateur dramatic scene for over 40 years. Our history stems from the relocation of hundreds of Midland Bank Head Office staff from London to Sheffield in the 1970s. The Midland Bank Dramatic Society was one of the social groups formed to help settle the staff and their families into the area. Now re-named, we are an open society, welcoming new members both on and off the stage. Two shows are performed a year at the University of Sheffield Drama Studio, with occasional other projects.

Escrick, York, North Yorkshire

The Monday Players drama society is based at Escrick, a small village, about seven miles south of York City centre. Our venue, recently refurbished, is the village hall, where we have produced live theatre for the last eighteen years.
Members come from wide area, ten miles radius or more, including York and Selby, but we also have the fellowship of family, friends and many other supporters who like to be involved not only in productions but also social events such as theatre trips, Summer garden party and Christmas celebrations. We are welcoming, enthusiastic and supportive group; we have high standards of performance and production; we enjoy immensely the recreational benefits of our activities.
Some members enjoy performing; others enjoy being part of our production teams; some enjoy both!Every production provides opportunities to act, to get involved in set construction, become part of the stage crew, to assist with transport, lighting, sound, special effects, publishing, front of house or indeed, helping to make a welcome cuppa at one of our rehearsals.Rehearsals take place on Sunday and Monday evenings and our two production dates fall in May and November each year.Generally members are sixteen years or more but there can be exceptions. If you are interested in becoming involved, in whatever way, with The Monday Players, please contact us and you will be warmly invited to meet Monday Players ‘at work’ and decide for yourself.

Morley Amateur Operatic Society

Morley, Leeds, West Yorkshire

Morley Amateur Operatic Society has been presenting Musicals, Pantomimes and Concerts for over 80 years.
We have our own rehearsal room adjoining Morley Cricket Club in Scatcherd Lane, just 10 minutes walk from Morley Town centre. On the first Tuesday of each month members will call into the Cricket Club after the rehearsal (it's a tough job but someone's got to do it). So come along for a drink, but please give us a call first to check.
We are always looking for new members to join in our productions (a pantomime in February and a main musical in September).
If you're interested in singing, dancing or acting, then a warm welcome awaits you.
If appearing on stage is not for you, then there are many other aspects that you can become involved in.
Behind every successful production there is a small army of members and helpers, their talents cover costume making, set building, sourcing and making props, scenery painting and the administration and running of the society. If time doesn't allow you this level of commitment, then we always need help during the week of the production, e.g. stage hands and programme and refreshment sellers.
We are a friendly, fun loving society and we would love to hear from anyone wanting to become involved. Come and join us for a coffee during rehearsals (we normally rehearse Tuesday and Thursday between 19.30 & 21.30 with a break about 20.30).
If you are interested please contact us via our website or social media

Northallerton Amateur Variety Company

Northallerton, North Yorkshire

The Variety Company has put on successful pantomimes in Northallerton in late January, for many years, and has raised many thousands of pounds for charity at the same time. In 2013 we are putting on "Aladdin". This will run from Sunday 20th January to Saturday the 26th January except Wednesday 23rd. The Box Office is available at Boyes Store between 10am and 4pm until the week of the show or ring the box office on 01609 770936.
In 2012 we put on a very successful production of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", with sell out audiences on many of our performance dates.
A few photos from this show, together with others from earlier years are available to view on this site.
For more information on joining the Company to help us put on these shows contact us.
We also run a "concert party" that performs on a number of occassions during the year - often helping charities raise money for their own good cause
