*Call out for a choreographer!* We are looking for a Choreographer for our November production of Urinetown the musical (yes that is an awful title)! Urinetown is set in a Gotham style world, where the water supply is governed by a huge corporation and the citizens have to pay to pee (yep really). As the CEO of Urine Good Company plans to further strip the city of its rights, one underdog leads a revolution to overthrow evil and authority. A fun satirical look at society and our future, as well as being a love letter to musical theatre in the form of a grenade. Springers AODS is a friendly and inclusive dramatics society based in Springfield, Chelmsford. We rehearse Mondays and Wednesdays from 8pm, and one Sunday. The show/get in dates are Sunday 4 - Saturday 11 November 2023 in Chelmsford Theatre Studio. Please note, this is an unpaid role as we are an amateur society. Please get in touch if you'd like an informal chat with myself - the Director.

WAOS needs a Wardrobe Person for Young Frankenstein
Are you interested in Theatrical Costumes? WAOS needs a Wardrobe Master/Mistress to take charge of costume for our next show, Young Frankenstein
An essential part of the Production Team of any show is the Wardrobe Team. For some years they have been led by Anne Howe, who coordinates the costume requirements for the show according to the director's vision and the availability of costumes. Anne is stepping back for a while after a very busy series of shows and so we would like to recruit another talented volunteer to lead the existing team.
We rarely make costumes since that is very time-consuming but we have our own costume store and we often hire a complete set of costumes for a particular show. This still needs coordinating, requiring the cast to be measured and needing appropriate liaison with costumiers to make arrangements for hiring. If a costume set has been hired the costumes will usually be delivered (or picked up if reasonably local) and will need to be sorted, put on rails and fittings organised the Friday before the dress rehearsal. Adjustments must be made by the team and all accessories added at the costume rehearsal. At the end of the show all the hired costumes must be checked, packed and sent back to the costumiers.
As you can appreciate this is a very important role and may suit those with an eye for colour and detail but also someone who is very well organised. There could be as many as 2-300 separate pieces of costume for a cast of 30 people! If you are interested in learning more about this volunteer role please email stewartadkins@waos.org
The Jávea Players are seeking an additional Sound person If you have any background in sound recording, that would be advantage, but just being interested in the preparation of sound effects, and subsequently playing them during shows, would be enough. There is plenty of knowledge available to help you through the learning curve, along with access to a large library of sound effects. Induction training will be provided. If you would like to chat about what is involved, then email your phone number to javeaplayers@gmail.com and Peter our Sound man will call you.
All info here at southdevonplayers.com/crewing.html - previous crew have gone on to Uni etc so we need to re-crew for 2023. Must be Devon based. Happy to chat.
The Deben Players production of ”Cheshire Cats” is rapidly approaching.

Performances are from Weds 14th to Sat 17th Sept. 2022. You need to arrive at the theatre by 7.00pm for a briefing.
