Blackheath

We are a friendly society and always welcome new members, both principal and chorus members - or if you don't want to perform on stage there are many other backstage jobs - helping with publicity, prompt etc.
We usually perform one main show a year around late Spring / early Summer and then do a concert around November. Members are welcome to participate in one or both of these as they wish.
We rehearse from 7:30 to 9:30 on Thursday evenings in Mycenae House, Blackheath SE3 7SE, or Henwick School, Eltham SE9 6NZ. If you would like to join us, why not drop us a mail to confirm where and when we are rehearsing, and then come along one evening?

Shepherd’s Bush, Chiswick and Hammersmith

Born in the age of COVID-19, Festoon Theatre Company saw a need in the Amateur Theatre world for a company that focussed on small cast and rarely performed shows. To compliment this we will be looking at performing at unusual and unconventional venues in the Shepherd's Bush, Chiswick and Hammersmith Area.
The team have over 40 years combined experience in amateur theatre, both performing in and producing many musicals in multiple venues.
Festoon Theatre Company are dedicated to producing high quality and rarely seen shows and bringing them to West London audiences!

Bellingham Leisure & Lifestyle Centre, 5 Randlesdown Road, Bellingham, London, SE6 3BT (Meeting Room on the 1st Floor)

Forbes Drama offers fun 21st century improvisation drama classes, in a friendly encouraging and professional environment for children and teenagers. Improvisation has been proven to help self-confidence and enables students to express themselves freely without the restriction of working from a script. FD is interested in students with or without experience as we believe that no experienceis an advantage, in having a raw and authentic acting ability, which is important in performing naturally. No matter what your background, everyone is welcome, and we do not discriminate, in fact the more character, uniqueness and diversity the better! The only thing we ask of our students is respect for their fellow student’s which forms part of our ethos.

Hampstead Garden Suburb

We perform plays from Shakespeare to Stoppard, and even more contemporary than that!
Our season schedule works like this: In October and May we perform at The Bull in Barnet; usually a straight play. In December we perform Upstairs at the Gatehouse in Highgate – this is usually but not exclusively something modern, sometimes a new twist on an old classic such as Dracula, Christmas Carol and coming up next year, Treasure Island. In February we put on an all-singing all-dancing family show – last year Oliver, this year Alice – at the Henrietta Barnett School theatre in Hampstead garden Suburb. And in the summer we have a production in our Open Air Theatre – often but by no means always something by Shakespeare.
We also hold regular Studio Productions to try out new writing or new directors; we also hold Unrehearsed readings of plays that might not otherwise get an airing.
We have a rehearsal venue in Finchley Central N3 close to the tube station.
Age Range: All ages welcome; most of our shows have parts for actors 16+; plus children from 8 for our annual family show.If you're interested in joining, take a quick look at our membership application

Pimlico

Geoids Amateur Operatic Society was founded in 1930 by the Geography and Geology departments of Kings College, London. On field trips students would gather and sing Gilbert and Sullivan so they formed a group, called themselves The Geoids (which means "of the earth" - hence Geography and Geology) and began singing to audiences.
The group has since lost its contacts with Kings and its dedication to G&S, but it is affiliated to NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) and we have close ties with other performing societies around the country.
Over the years our members have enjoyed exploring a wide variety of theatrical genres, from pantomime to light opera, tap to salsa and Sondheim to Noel Coward. We put on at least two shows a year, in the spring and at Christmas, and have also presented a variety of workshops and concerts during the summer.
As well as performing, the more social aspect of Geoids continues throughout the year with an annual dinner for members and friends, barbecues, quiz nights, theatre trips, scratch performances, play readings and lots of visits to a variety of pubs!
Membership is made up of people aged from 18 to 70 but the most important thing is that we all like to sing, have a good time and make exciting and entertaining theatre.
If you would like to join us or would like some more information, then send an geoids.social@gmail.com
