Uncover Theatre

The Albany. Douglas Way. Deptford. London SE8 4AG

Uncover Theatre make large-scale, ensemble performance that is about the experiences and ideas of the group members. Our work is an organised chaos, energetic and sometimes raw with a mix of rehearsed and live moments. We use movement, design, new and original texts that we develop as a company, big soundtracks and improvisations. We are constantly developing our work, how we approach it, where we do it and what we make it about, to communicate our thoughts and ideas in different ways. We make theatre that excites us and our audiences and work that we think pushes people's ideas about what we are capable of doing as young people.
The group meet weekly and work towards creating performances for the Albany and other exciting festivals and venues. We have previously performed at the Albany, Soho Theatre, Lewisham People?s Day, Forest Fest, Brockley Max and the Southbank Centre.
'Our youth theatre isn't like other youth theatres. If I didn't have this theatre to motivate me, I don't think I would be motivated at all.'

Unicorn Young Company

Unicorn Young Company

Facebook  Twitter

Unicorn Theatre, 147 Tooley Street, Southwark, London SE1 2HZ

Unicorn Young Company (UYC) is an entirely youth-led theatre group supported by the Unicorn.
We decide what we want to say about the world and theatre and express it in our own way through our work, hiring the directors we are interested in and choosing the scripts we like. We are in control of our voice and because of this we are proud to break some rules and conventions. Unlike any other youth organisation we have a first-hand account of what the youth want to express, and we deliver.
If you are an individual who doesn't shy away from a challenge, who wants to see their work in performances, you are the kind of person we are looking for.
Members have to be aged between 13-19 (meaning you must be 13 or up to 19 years-old on 1st September of the relevant year). There is a £15 membership fee that is collected every term, which we use to fund our productions. There are no expectations for payment from people who have free school meals.
To find out more and to join the UYC waiting list, please email hello@unicorntheatre.com

Wimbledon Light Opera Society is always looking for new talent, on stage or off. We’re also interested in hearing from experienced directors in this field. There are lots of roles to fill - backstage, front of house, arranging publicity or social events.
Previous experience is not essential, but enthusiasm and commitment are. Singing membership is by audition - very informal, and members have first chance of auditioning for principal parts.
We perform two shows a year - usually mid-May and mid November or early December. As soon as we finish one, we start rehearsing for the next one. Our twice yearly performances take place at The Secombe Theatre (Sutton), The London Oratory School Arts Centre, Merton Hall or occasionally Wimbledon Theatre.
Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 7.45pm to 10.00pm at the Village Hall, Lingfield Road, Wimbledon and Sunday evenings for the final month before each production (plus Thursday evenings for Principals - and occasionally, closer to the show, the chorus may also be required on Thursday evenings).
If you’d like to join WLOS, please get in touch with us ASAP by emailing info@wlos.org.uk
