Based in the picturesque village of Roadwater in West Somerset, the Roadwater Players put on high quality shows all year round. We are winners of multiple awards at the Somerset Fellowship of Drama, and have recently got involved with NODA.With a committed membership we put on a play every spring and a Panto every Christmas, with other things interspersed if time/people allows. We perform in the local Village Hall, which is small and cosy, presenting it’s own challenges to performance; which we deal with admirably. We always welcome new members both for stageside and backstage/ support work. We are a very friendly group and we take people in with open arms! Please see our website for more information, details of shows and how to buy tickets. Contact: info@roadwaterplayers.org
The Rondo Theatre Company is the performing arm of the Rondo Trust. We usually present several productions each year, both at the Rondo Theatre and elsewhere in Bath at highly enjoyable outdoor events in the summer. The Company dates back to 1953 when the Everyman Theatre Club met at the Octagon in Bath, the name was then changed to The Octagon Theatre Club. In 1982 the Club began performing at the newly opened Rondo Theatre in Larkhall. Its first production was Hedda Gabler, followed by a string of highly acclaimed, successful productions. Following the creation of The Rondo Trust, and the first stage of the development of the Rondo Theatre, the Company formalised its relationship with The Trust, and changed its name to The Rondo Theatre Company. It then became the Rondo’s resident community theatre group and continues to enjoy performing in this well-respected venue. Contact: mail@rondotheatrecompany.org

In addition to its Young Performers Programme, Somerset Opera is delighted to support the Somerset Song Prize (SSP) The SSP is a biennial national singing competition for young people aged 18 to 26. The wide and universal theatre... All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players They have their exits and their entrances And one man in his time plays many parts, His acts being seven ages. - Shakespeare (1564-1616) As You Like It,II.7.137 The Blakehay Actors Company was formed in 2006. From the start it was decided to aim for the highest standard possible. Actors were recruited locally and auditioned. It turned out that Weston has a wealth of acting talent and the Actors Co were fortunate to recruit several and the original company comprised of Frances Iles, Rebecca Fuller, Robert Iles, Peter Nicholls, Pauline Colsey, Jennifer Hart, Pete Nicholls, Conrad Collinge, Laura James, John Edgar. The company's first production, Comfort and Joy by Mike Harding was an ambitious choice and it was decided to hire professional director Keith Myers. Several productions later the Blakehay Actors Company have settled into a routine of two major productions per year and several bye monthly short play evenings. These midweek (usually Wednesday and Thursday) productions are far ranging from Pinter to local writing talent. There is no doubt one of the reasons that the Actors Company has grown in popularity is the format, ticket prices include a wine and cheese supper and a chance to chat to the cast. The Blakehay Actors Company is always on the look out for new talent and indeed new actors have joined the group as others have left. They are also on the look out for all sort of support both front of house and back stage. If you have some acting experience and would like to join the Blakehay Actors Company Please contact us. Experienced back stage and technical crew members are always welcome. Contact via our website or social media
