Compton Martin Players

Compton Martin

Our group of happy members work together to create lively and entertaining plays, productions and pantomimes, all designed to involve the whole community. We also enjoy the social aspect of being a group of like-minded people too, and our Social Secretary organises regular trips to see productions in Bristol and Bath. There are also regular play readings in the local pub, The Ring O Bells.
All of our productions are staged in Compton Martin Village Hall and involve a wide variety of people – you don’t have to be a budding Thespian to join in. In addition to taking to the stage or being part of a chorus, we welcome anyone who is interested in helping out with stage management, set building, prop design, playing in the orchestra, costume and theatrical make-up, as well as running the bar and selling tickets. Children of all ages are also welcome – particularly during our pantomime season when we need lots of singing and dancing from children and younger adults of all ages.
To join our mailing list and receive regular updates and invitations to outings and auditions, please contact comptonmartinplayers@gmail.com

Core Theatre Productions

Bath & North East Somerset

We are a not-for-profit community theatre group based in Bath. We are not a professional group, but we try to work with as professional a manner as we can and that shows in the quality of the people we work with, the shows we put on, and is just one of the reasons that people keep coming back to work with us and to see our productions.
Getting Involved
Have you always wanted to ‘tread the boards’ but never known where to start, or if you’d be any good at it?
We hold open auditions because we love to get new people involved. We don’t mind if you have never acted before or if you are in ten other companies, you can still come along and try your hand.

An exciting time lies head as we change from being the Frome Amateur Operatic Society, a name we have been known by for over 100 years. The new name FMTC (frome musical theatre company) reflects the variety of professional musical productions that we perform throughout the year and we hope that our audience of all ages will continue to support us and enjoy being entertained by us, as much as we enjoy showing you the best talent that Frome and the area has.
We are always on the lookout for new members whether that be on stage (acting, singing, dancing etc.), backstage (scenery, props, lighting, sound etc.), under stage (costumes, make-up, hair etc.) and with pre-production activities such as publicity.
FMTC welcome newcomers and if you are interested in finding out more about how you can join us, please send an email to info@fromemtc.co.uk and let us know which areas you would be keen on being involved in, either backstage or onstage, or both.
We look forward to hearing from you and welcome you to our company.

Godney Amateur Dramatic Society (GADS)

Officially formed in March 2003 after the resounding success of its inaugural production of the pantomime Cinderella, GADS has just completed its twenty second production, Unexpected Guests. Twelve years on the group continues to grow from production to production strengthening its reputation in the local community and is now in a position to stage at least two and sometimes three productions annually. It is a non-profit making organization ploughing every penny gained from ticket sales into new productions or equipment. The support of our paying audience is therefore paramount and gratefully acknowledged.
The group is village-based and encourages youngsters and newcomers to join its ranks. All village residents are automatically full members of GADS and associate membership is given to those living outside the village. All membership is entirely free.
The group currently meets in The Sheppey, Godney on the first Thursday of each month at 7.30pm for an open committee meeting. If there is no production in rehearsal we try to follow the meeting with play readings or workshops, although these can also take place on different nights or in different locations, allowing those members with neither the time nor the inclination to appear in a full production still to be involved in theatre. The meetings are additionally useful as a social get together with like-minded acquaintances and friends.
Whether you want to act or to utilize your backstage or design talents, whether you have a lot of spare time or a little, whether you are young or younger, everyone is more than welcome. We are proud of the fact that every one of our twenty two productions has introduced people new to the group and in some cases new to theatre. Why not you? If you would like more information, just contact one of the committee members, join us on Facebook or go to www.gadssomerset.org.uk. Apart from using jungle drums or smoke signals there is not a lot more we can do!

Hutton Drama Club

Facebook  Twitter

We are a small and friendly drama club situated in Hutton, near Weston-super-mare, England.
We are a small friendly group, currently producing 2 shows per year, pantomime & a play. Drama is a unique hobby as it encompasses all skills & takes you away from the tension & stress of every day life as you enter into a world of fantasy, which also gives pleasure to others. There is nothing more satisfying than making people smile.
Not every one wants to be a budding actor or producer. The DIY experts amongst us derive great satisfaction from turning a bare stage into a plush hotel or a bleak moorland. Electricians can have great fun with creative lighting & dramatic stage effects.
People are always needed to prompt or swiftly change the scenery, not to mention the never ending cuppas. There are ticket sales to handle, helping front of house at the shows, reading scripts for suitability-the list is endless. Drama is teamwork, so –what-ever your interest- we need you & welcome you.
Hutton Drama Club meet every Monday night (except Bank Holidays)
at 7.30pm in:-
The Harold Coward Memorial Hall (a.k.a The Small Hall) Hutton Village Hall, Church Lane, Hutton, Nr. Weston super Mare, Somerset BS24 9SN.
