The WTG has members of all different ages (18 an above), skills and experience. We all work together to put on a great show. We always welcome and encourage new members to join and take part in whatever aspects of theatre production interests them, but also encouraged people to try and dip a toe outside of their comfort zone and try new things such as painting set, writing a script, acting on stage and controlling light and sound. Everything is important. It’s also a great way to meet new people and make new friends. If you’re interested in joining, just pop along to the Arts Centre in Washington on a Tuesday night around 7:30pm and ask at reception for Washington Theatre Group. NOTE: WTG is an adult theatre group, all members must be 18 years of age or above.

West End Operatic Society is an amateur musical theatre group based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Each year, our members get to rehearse and perform a large scale musical production at one of the three major theatres in Newcastle city centre. Our members range in age and ability and our key focus is to give them the opportunity to do something they love and enjoy and experience performing live onstage in front of a sell out audience. WEOS is a welcoming and friendly all-singing, all-dancing family!
We perform two musicals each year usually in November and April taking up to six months in rehearsals twice a week. We currently have about 100 members but are always looking for new talent so if you can sing and dance (just a little!) and wish to join us, then get in touch via the website or chairman.wbos@gmail.com.
