Abbots Langley, Watford Henderson HallOur yearly programme generally includes a full scale operetta performed at the Palace Theatre in Watford and a summer concert that we give in the village of Abbots Langley. Chorus rehearsals usually take place on Monday nights, with principals being rehearsed on Fridays. These can change from time to time, but in general we don't ask chorus to attend a rehearsal more than once a week. Depending on the nature of our main show, rehearsals get more intense towards the first night with a possible Sunday included in the schedule. A typical show week consists of a dress rehearsal on the Sunday followed by performances Monday through to Saturday (including a Matinee). For the summer concert the schedule is not usually as demanding. Contact chairman@algss.org.uk secretary@algss.org.uk treasurer@algss.org.uk membership@algss.org.uk |

BarkwayThe Barkway Players were founded in 1992. We put on our very first Barkway Pantomime on 15-16 January 1993. We write our own scripts, and although these are often based on traditional stories, we generally try to deliver an unusual slant. People of all generations are involved. Many of the original members still take part but we welcome new faces every year, both on stage and behind the scenes. We also have a lively and enthusiastic junior cast.

Welwyn Garden CityThe Barn Theatre exists for all those people, young and old, interested in the Theatre, both on and off stage. Many of our members simply enjoy the social aspects for the Theatre. In addition to offering acting roles in plays, or opportunities to get involved back stage with creative teams, the Club has other activities including special Club nights and social events, plus use of the Club Room Bar most evenings. A monthly newsletter keeps members informed of forthcoming events. Newcomers to the Barn are usually impressed by two things: the quality of the productions and the astonishing transformation of a 17th century farm building into a modern well equipped theatre. Along with a diverse season of plays, pantomimes and musicals, The Barn Theatre is becoming nationally renowned as one of the finest amateur led Theatres in Britain. Everyone at the Barn is a volunteer, so there are opportunities to get involved with every aspect of the theatre’s life. Barn box office (01707 324300) |

Bishop's StortfordBishop’s Stortford Musical Theatre Company brings entertainment, enjoyment and relaxation to the people of the town and surrounding villages. The Company puts on two musical shows each year and consistently achieves an extremely high standad; our orchestra is West End quality - as are our sets and the costumes worn by our cast. For musical talent and spectacle, you cannot find a higher standard locally. The Company started life as the Bishop\’s Stortford Amateur Operatic Society (BSAOS) and it’s first production was in 1918 - The Duchess Of Danzig. The Company was disbanded in 1934 when the site at which the group performed was sold. Since reforming in 1963, BSAOS and then BSMTC has produced more than 50 shows including well-known popular musicals such as Oklahoma!, My Fair Lady and The Merry Widow, operettas such as The Pirates Of Penzance, HMS Pinafore and grand operas such as Orpheus in the Underworld. It has also striven to move with the times with it’s acclaimed production of Little Shop Of Horrors in 2010, which has drawn a raft of new talent from the local area enabling the Company to have a solid base of talented performing members.
