SMAD (Sea Mills AmDram)

The Rock Centre, Ridingleaze, Bristol, BS11 0QE
Sea Mills Am Dram was created in May 2009 by a group of people desperate to have fun, and entertain local people with plays, pantos - in fact, anything that took their fancy. With only limited resources they decided to take it into their own hands and create their own new group. So SMAD was created. Meeting on Tuesday night 7pm til 9.30pm they are always looking for new members and would love some fresh faces to come along. If you are interested and want to come for a closer look, head along to The Rock Centre, Ridingleaze, Bristol, BS11 0QE. Contact: seamillsamdram@gmail.com or call 07502788111
The Bristol based community improv group produce nights and productions of improv comedy and improv theatre. We have two nights of improv with four potential productions.
We have Improv Night in The Little Black Box Theatre (tbc) where we perform various improv shows, but our Scratch the Attic shall be there eventually.
We also have Release Night where we use two amazing musicians/performers that beatbox with a loop and we improvise a whole album and put it online. This is in the open mic in Roll for the Soul for the time being.
We also have A Cappella: an improvised musical where we improvise 45 minute musical with a choir - no instruments and three improvisers with the local choir backing.
Garwood and Keates is a twoprov production that was inspired back in 2012 by the wonderful David Razowsky. The show has toured a little now and shall be back regularly soon. The name Space Monkeys came from an audience suggestion of one of our first ever a cappella musical we did together in Bristol. The full title suggestion was Space Monkeys Bicycle, so we will develop our logo to have all three in it. (It is a little unclear now).
Some of us also do professional improv, check out Youth Improv, Spontaneous Theatre Company and Nathan Improv.
SPPTheatreCo is an amateur theatre company based in Southville, Bristol. We exist to help people get involved in theatre, whether on stage or behind the scenes. Established as St Paul's Players in 1954, we have almost 60 years of experience in staging productions of all genres, from darkly murderous two-handers, to period romps to variety performances. Although we are not a faith group, we rehearse at St Paul's Church on Coronation Road, and maintain close links with the church that gave us our name. We stage at least two, and more usually four or five different productions and events over the course of a year, so there's plenty of opportunity to take part. As well as traditional plays, we hold annual Murder Mystery dinners and other fundraisers including regular pub quizzes. From 2013 onwards we will also be holding rehearsed readings to trial material for the Bristol One-Act festival, and we are setting up a writing group for budding playwrites to promote the use of new material within the group.
