Telford

TADLOP was founded in 1972 after an idea by Shirlee Gaston, who remains the Founding Member.
The first production by the society, Calamity Jane, was staged on a modest budget of £500 at Oakengates Theatre 34 years ago.
The shows produced by TADLOP now cost approximately £20,000 for a five or six day performance run.
Oakengates Theatre, The Place, is TADLOP'S home and only during the recent multi-million pound development of the theatre have we performed productions at The Centenery Theatre in Wellington and the Madeley Court Theatre.
We are affiliated with The National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA).
The Society produces one Musical a year in April and performances are held at The Place, Oakengates. TADLOP is always looking for new members either acting or non-acting, auditions to join are held from June to September every year.

The Belfrey prides itself on making new Members to The Company feel very welcome. We always welcome new Members to The Wellington Theatre Company at The Belfrey Theatre and there is always so much to do! So, whatever happens at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, the same job is done here at the Belfrey, albeit on a smaller scale. We are always looking for new Members to take part in Productions and perform on our stage, there are always loads of other activities for those who want to be involved in Theatre without “treading the boards”. Do any of these tasks interest you?- Directing, – Set Design & Construction – Set Painting – Sound & Lighting – Stage Management – Costume – Props – Prompt – Publicity – Box Office – Front Of House – Licensed Bar – Music – Dance – Youth Theatre Assistance In the past, our Members have gone on to do other things in professional Theatre, Television & Film. Even some current Members having professional commitments at present. Of course, we always need people who are prepared to “tread the boards” and you don’t need any previous experience, but you’ll be amazed at what you can do when you put your mind to it. So don’t be shy, if you want to get involved, simply have a chat with any Belfrey Member who will be delighted to talk to you. On Stage, Backstage, Front Of House…there is always plenty to do.

Whitchurch

Whitchurch Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society are an amateur group who produce mainly Musical stage shows ranging from the classics such as ‘Iolanthe’, ‘The Mikado, 'Me and My Girl’, ‘Fiddler on the Roof’, ‘Anything Goes’ to 'Godspell’ to name a few, as well as our recent production of ‘Little Shop of Horrors'. In addition to these we also perform Pantomimes, our next being ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' in December of this year.
Early in 1924 Mr Leonard Lee, a local business man, had the idea of forming an Operatic Society for the people of Whitchurch and the surrounding area. He called a few friends to a meeting and subsequently Whitchurch AODS was formed. In March of that year applications were invited for membership and in late 1924 Gilbert and Sullivan’s ‘The Gondoliers’ was performed in the then Town Hall. In 2014 members were delighted to be celebrating the 90th birthday of the society with a Summer Ball held at a local hotel last July.
The Society is mainly an adult society but does welcome children when the production calls for it. New members are always welcome whether it be to be on stage or to take part in the all important off stage duties. We rehearse usually on Tuesday for Principals and Thursday for Chorus with some Sunday Rehearsals when opening night is fast approaching.
Our shows are performed mainly in the Civic Centre on the High street but we also use the Talbot Theatre at Sir John Talbot's Academy on the outskirts of town.

Willenhall Musical Society

Whitchurch

We arrange concerts to support many charities and charitable organisations in the West Midlands and hold an annual concert, normally in November, for our charity of the year. We often invite guest artistes to share the stage for this annual concert and we have welcomed some terrific performers over the years from junior school bands to polished semi professional singers. Our rehearsals take place each Monday evening, from 7.30 to 9.30 at Portobello Methodist Church, New St. just off the Keyway island. They are always fun and usually fairly painless! Anyone who likes to sing and can hold a tune will be warmly welcomed, particularly gentlemen, (currently outnumbered 4 to 1) and contraltos.
