The Goring Gap Players is a local Amateur Dramatic group dedicated to producing theatrical performances of a high standard - and to having fun!

Holton Players

Oxford

We've now completed twenty-one years as an active, innovative drama group centred in Holton, just outside Oxford. We generally offer either one or two full-scale productions a year, with smaller events and entertainments in between. Our choice of plays has ranged widely, from Coward and Wilde to Chekhov and Stoppard, and from Ayckbourn to recent hits like Jeffrey Bernard is Unwell and The Thirty-Nine Steps. We also make a point of presenting works of local origin or interest, including those of our resident playwright Kit Arnold, whose Collected Works, published by us, can be obtained from the contact below. Most of our productions are put on in Holton\’s well-equipped Village Hall, and we have our own up-to-date lighting and sound hardware. We welcome anyone interested in supporting us (on stage, backstage or front of house), and would particularly like to hear from younger people who want to gain some varied experience in acting and/or production.

Kennington Amateur Dramatic Society - KADS

Kennington Village Centre

In 1979, a small band of enthusiasts met to discuss the possibility of starting a village drama group. They gathered together people with varied talents and the result was a home written pantomime The Beggars of Bagley Wood. This was performed in the old village hall and the then library doubled as a changing room. From that day it continued to flourish and they found themselves producing 2–3 shows each year consisting of pantomimes, plays and various musical performances. In more recent years this has spread to entering the local Drama Festivals, where we have gained many prizes and cups. KADS is also a founder member of the Oxfordshire Drama Network (ODN).
The secret to our success has been enthusiasm and commitment from everyone involved. Over the years we have seen people come and go, many of our younger members have returned, some with their own families and three have become professional actors. Our youth group has increased to the extent that we now have a waiting list.
We are always happy to welcome new members to KADS. If you would like to join or help out in any way, please be sure to visit our website for more information.
Rehearsals every Tuesday night (19:30 - 22:30) in the Kennington Village Centre (opposite the Tandem restaurant).
You must be of Secondary School Age (age 12+) to join.
UNLESS a parent is also a member of the cast.

Can you act, sing, dance, play a musical instrument?
There are no auditions required to join the society, or to take part in choir concerts or the chorus of an Autumn Production.
A friendly audition process is held for principal roles in productions, and for certain solo parts in concerts.
The ability to read music will be very helpful to you in learning choir pieces, but is not required if you are willing to put in the time to learn your parts. The majority of pieces are arranged in four vocal parts (SATB).
Would you like to be involved backstage in a production?
A Society needs many people to help bring a production to fruition. We are a friendly society and always like to welcome new members to participate. Please contact us and a member of the committee will get back to you.

Middleton Cheney Village Hall

The Lynden Players were formed in 1975 by a group of members who met at a Women’s Institute drama group. They wanted a name with a rural feel, and settled on the name ‘Lynden Players'.
We are currently rehearsing on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8.00pm at Middleton Cheney Village Hall, which is also Lynden’s home for our performances.
We are very proud of our talented actors and performers, but we are especially grateful for those members who have fantastic creative, technical and practical skills. A successful show needs a huge team of volunteers: the list includes lighting, sound, costumes, props, hair and make up, sets, front of house, catering, marketing, box office, chaperones, stage managers, prompts, producers, directors, musicians, choreographers, writers and actors.
There is also a strong social element to being a member. We organise regular theatre trips, particularly to support other local groups and drama festivals; our quiz team does very well in the monthly pub quiz and while our regular activities have been suspended, we have enjoyed online meetings and activities.
