40 years of live amateur theatre in Arnold, Nottinghamshire.
The Prospect Players is an extremely friendly amateur dramatic group based in Arnold, Nottingham. Now in our 37th year, we have staged over 100 productions. We have rehearsals twice a week, traditionally Tuesdays and Fridays, at the Pondhills Community Centre in Arnold. We consider our high standard of performance to be mainly attributed to that of teamwork and friendship. The group usually performs three shows a season, which lasts from November to May each year. All our performances are currently based at the Bonington Theatre in Arnold, Nottingham (which is part of the Arnold Leisure Centre). The shows that we perform range across a whole spectrum of genres, from farce and mystery, to musicals and period dramas.

Retford Amateur Operatic Society

Retford Amateur Operatic Society

Rehearsal Studio:
Denman Hall, Moorgate, Retford, DN22 6RR

Retford and District Amateur Operatic Society was formed nearly 100 years ago, in 1921, to provide an outlet for the areas' musical loving population. Since then, a minimum of one main show has been performed to the public, with shows ranging from Annie to The Wizard of Oz and pretty much every popular show in between. This show is currenlty held at The Majestic Theatre in Retford.
We also perform an annual Pantomine in December, currently at Retford Little Theatre, with offerings such as Mother Goose, Snow White and Ali Baba and the Forty Theives.
The high standard of our productions is reflected in the number of nominations and awards we have won over the years at the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) Annual Awards. Two of our most recent offerings, Peter Pan (2013) & The Snow Queen (2014) have won Best Pantomime, and Carousel (2013) won Best Musical. Other NODA Nominations & Awards received over the years include Best Basic Programme (Carousel, 2013) & Best Youth Production (The Mini Operatic Bunch's performance of Grease, 2014).
The current Society, with over 100 members between the adult and youth group and Synchro Singers, meets one or twice every week for rehearsals and we are always happy to receive new members either on the stage or behind the scenes.

The Beeston school was established in 2003, and is part of the Stagecoach Theatre arts network which was established in 1988. Often copied, but never equaled, we offer quality training in the three performing arts disciplines: drama, dance and singing – helping to develop confidence, physical awareness, communication and articulation – as well as being educational and loads of fun! There is no need to find separate singing, dancing and acting classes in Beeston, when Stagecoach offers all three to a high standard under one roof! All of our teachers are DBS/CRB checked so that children and teenagers can work in a safe and protected environment. Fees work out at approximately £8 per hour, which offers outstanding value for money for quality performing arts training, small class sizes, medals, performances, magazine subscription, optional representation by the Stagecoach Agency which secures professional work for hundreds of children, and the many other extras that we offer at Stagecoach Beeston!

Stagefright Theatre Group

The "Stagefright Theatre Group" is based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. We aim to offer two productions each year and perform these in the 'Old Library Theatre' in Mansfield.
The group first got together in February 2009 and was originally made up from members of the Mansfield Community Theatre group. We had decided that we needed to do more than just the annual community theatre production and decided to ‘have a go’ at putting on a theatre production during the community theatre breaks. We had a blast at working towards our first production in July 2009.
We were all surprised at how well we did. The show was a sell out and the audience feedback was excellent. We knew then we must continue and started the work towards our second show. 'Love on the Dole' which we performed in February 2010 the rest is history as we go from strength to strength.
The group aim to have fun and put on quality shows that appeals to a wide range of audiences. We hope to see you in our audience soon.
We welcome new members in all aspects of production.

The West Bridgford Operatic SocietyEmail: enquiries@wbos.org.uk
The WBOS, based in Nottingham, England, was formed in 1945, and recently celebrated its 60th anniversary. Our first show was in 1946 and every year since then we have performed at least one show every year! The Society has established a reputation for having high-quality singing, both chorus and principals. This reputation, together with a high standard of production, means that we are able to produce a top quality show both acoustically and visually. Our policy has always been to cast principals from within the Society, if possible, which means everyone can audition and has a fair chance of singing solos.
It's not all singing, however. The Society has a good reputation for being friendly, new members are made very welcome and are very quickly included in the social side of things. We have a number of social events throughout the year, plus regular post-rehearsal drinks (just to settle the vocal chords you understand!).
You will find a friendly welcome if you would like to join us. You may want to sing and dance in our shows and concerts, but we’re just as happy to have new members who want to help with stage management, costumes, props, or the many other things which go into making a good show.
