Stopgap Theatre Company
Isleworth
Based in Chiswick, London W4 and performing in Isleworth TW7.
St Faith’s Players, Brentford’s local friendly drama group, started performing in 1977 with a concert to celebrate the Queen’s Silver Jubilee. Since then hundreds of people have taken to the boards, built sets, painted scenery and sewed costumes to keep the shows coming, with our annual pantomime particularly attracting a large local and loyal following. At the moment, we currently put on at least two productions each year, ranging from drama to comedy, thriller to Music Hall – all interspersed with a variety of social activities and fund raising events and we are planning to introduce a children’s production/workshop in the summer of 2019. We always welcome new members (from the age of 5 upwards) and offer many different opportunities to get involved with our latest production or event. For example, if you don’t fancy acting, why don’t you help backstage? There are numerous opportunities to join in with make-up, costumes, scenery, lighting, sound, stage managing and props. No experience is necessary. We would love to hear from you if you want to get involved.

We were formed in 1966 by Joan Munday and Jim Snell, and for our first few years we were known as The Neasden Methodist Church Drama Society. We began with three plays in 1967: A Public Mischief, Triple Bill and Love's A Luxury. In 1971 came our first foray into the world of pantomime, and we have performed two plays and a pantomime every year since.Members have come and gone over the years and our performance venues have changed. We perform our pantomimes at the Brent Town Hall to audiences of over 2,000, and we have performed our plays at The Kingsland Hall United Reform Church (Wembley), The Travellers' Studio (Hatch End) and recently at Glaxo Smithkline (Greenford). After all this time, we are proud that one of our founding members, Joan Munday, is still actively involved with the society. The Chameleons have now been online for a decade and now regularly attract 2000 sessions or visits per month, Bringing potential members and sponsorship, social and fundraising opportunities to us.
