Blue Moon Entertainers

Blue Moon Entertainers

Blue Moon Productions is the creation, which was started by Neil Mitchener in 2003, and is run by him as chairman, and we strive to put on amateur, lighthearted shows, such as pantomime, comedy farce, Old Time Type shows, and we always like to help a different charity at each show, by collections and donations.
Neil is helped by a small committee of dedicated people, and perform shows locally around Poole and Wimborne, Dorset. UK

We always welcome all who like to come along to our shows and give support for amateur theatre to continue.
Thank you.

We are Bournemouth Gilbert and Sullivan Productions, better known as Bournemouth GaSP. We are a friendly Bournemouth based award winning group, who enjoy performing shows from Gilbert & Sullivan. We produce major shows and concerts each year.

Bournemouth Little Theatre Club (BLTC)

The Club is the only local group with its own dedicated premises and stages 6 to 8 productions (dramas, thrillers, comedies, and farces) a year.
The Club is always looking for new members.
This is because we are not a clique of a few close friends. We have been around a long time and we put on 6 shows a year. This means we need, for each show, actors, stage staff, front of house staff and management staff.
And all of us are true amateurs. We do it for love, and no one gets paid. Six shows (and sometimes more) implies that even the keenest among us need to be rested and not working all the time. So there is always room for more people.
So why not go to the Contact BLTC page on our website and get in touch with us? You will find us very welcoming.
We also welcome people who just feel they don't want to be active in the affairs of a theatre club, but would like to offer their support in a practical manner. They may be 'non-active': but all members are equal in our Club and everyone has a vote.
Remember: we are "Bournemouth's Intimate Theatre". Please consider joining us, won't you? Full details on the website.

If you fancy having a go at Shakespeare but have always been frightened of it then why not try the series of workshops which the players run which cover text, voice and acting skills. Everyone is welcome whether you have been acting for years or just starting out or just want to try some Shakespeare. There will be a small charge per workshop and they will be run by The Player’s Director and Chairman Kevin Dicker.

The Company is non-profit making and in 1988, it was able to fulfill a long-held ambition to adopt a charity and it was decided to give a donation to the Macmillan Trust, Christchurch. This year marks 16 years of support to the Macmillan Trust Cancer Unit in Christchurch. and since then through the hard work of various teams each year, another local charities have also benefited and we are again supporting The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation as well as the PDSA. The Players also support the Priory House Trust at Christchurch, and in previous years they have supported St John’s Ambulance and The Royal Bournemouth Hospital. Ever since the Players were formed they have always tried to give back to the community that supports them and so far they have donated over £60,000 to many local charities since 1988. With the ever-increasing cost of mounting such a production, the Players are looking for sponsors to help them either in a large or small way such as sponsoring a costume or becoming a patron. Help to keep this company in existence from as little as £12.00 a year. If you would like further details of these schemes please write to the Players or E-mail them.
In 1996, the company was proud to announce that Dame Judi Dench had kindly agreed to be their President and the long and happy association continues with regular messages of support for the company's ventures both written and in person.
The Players continue their tradition of encouraging young actors and introducing them to the joys of Shakespeare. One of the best ways to understand Shakespeare is to see it in performance and also to perform it. Several past members of the Players have since gone on to drama schools and into the professional theatre as well as the film and television world.

Lytchett Matravers, Poole

Castle Players were formed when Lytchett got a new Village Hall in 1973. When most people hear 'Village Hall' they think we perform in a damp, dingy little hut. But we have invested thousands making our hall a fabulous performing space. With a large stage and state-of-the-art lighting and sound equipment, our audience get the full theatre experience. Since our formation, we've gone from strength to strength, performing countless plays and pantomimes but most of all forging great friendships. Come along and meet us!

We guarantee a warm welcome, whether you're an audience member, a friend of the society or if you want to come and join us.

Christchurch G & S Society

Christchurch G & S was formed in the Spring of 1984 by Nigel Finch with a plan to perform at the newly opened Regent Centre in Christchurch in the September of that year. The production chosen was Iolanthe. It was a simple beginning with the set for Act One acquired from the Forestry Commission - six fir trees ranging from 4 to 8 feet tall. However the show was a sufficient success to enable thoughts to go towards choosing a show for 1985 - The Mikado. Being more well known than Iolanthe it had a much larger audience and really placed Christchurch G & S on the amateur Musical Society Map. Since then we have performed all but two of the operettas.
We have our own team of set builders who each year strive for bigger and better things. In the past we have had a real working fountain, we flew Katisha out in a balloon in The Mikado, and hopefully this year will prove no exception.
The Company is approximately 40 strong and has performed every September since 1984. For our Millenium project we tackled the "original" G & S Thespis; a UK premiere of this version.
