Enville Street Dramatic Society was founded in 1947 as the social arm of Enville Street Methodist Church in West Street, Stourbridge. The first play, Forced Landing, was presented in 1948 and to date has presented 130 plays - a mixture of drama, comedies and thrillers. Since 2005, the society has presented its plays at St Thomas' Church Hall, Market Street, Stourbridge, due to the closure of Enville Street Methodist Church. Plays are put on in April and November of each year. Our most recent production was called Family Planning (April 12th to 15th 2011) Charlotte Jackson and Tom Dallaway played the young couple with some news to tell and Betty Banks excelled as bedridden Gran in Frank Vickery's comedy which was very well received by the audience. We always welcome people wishing to join as 'acting' or 'non acting' members. Even if you don't want to act we also need people to build sets, decorate them, help with props, sound, lighting, prompting, publicising and catering during the show week. You can develop your skills in all of these areas and meet new people. Even just coming along to watch a rehearsal is helpful to the actors who need the experience of performing in front of an audience. There are also social events that take place throughout the year. Past events include Murder Mystery nights, barn dances, meals, discos, dinner dances, quizzes, skittle nights, video nights and theatre trips. There are a mix of different events throughout the year. Members can also suggest events for the Social Committee to organise email via website They have been established for 63 years and are NODA award winners.

Esteem is a professional theatre academy based in Wolverhampton. Our teachers are industry professionals who have trained and worked in West end, Film, TV, Stage and much more. We offer classes and training in Acting & Drama and Musical Theatre. Here at Esteem we welcome children of all levels. Our emphasis is on role play and imagination, as well as performance. Although in many children we see the blossoming of a lifelong career in performing arts, our emphasis is clear - developing skills for life! We love to watch our students grow by working on their individual confidence, communication and language, physical development and also personal, social and emotional development. Mental health is a growing area of concern for many parents as their children grow up. These things can be really daunting for adults to talk to children about. At Esteem we incorporate drama therapy to help children and young adults develop a greater self-esteem through drama exercises. We allow the students to express themselves in a safe and validating environment and present them an alternative way of communicating and expressing their fears and other difficult emotions. We aim to help children and young adults build their self-esteem and confidence as well as build and extend skills for those natural born performers. Regular performance opportunities are provided alongside exams in each discipline. At Esteem we are always working towards a show to give you the best opportunity to develop skills and show them off! We also offer private tuition, regular trips, entry into national competitions and much more. Our main academy classes run every Thursday evening. 6pm - 7pm Musical Theatre 7pm - 8pm Acting and performance techniques

Knowle Musical Society - KMS (previously Knowle Operatic Society) is an established and successful amateur group presenting one main production a year in the theatre of Solihull Arts Complex. Founded in January 1962 it was called Knowle Musical and Operatic Society, but later changed to Knowle Operatic Society. Now having gone a full circle, Musical is again in the title as that is what it is. For several years KMS presented the operattas of Gilbert & Sullivan but moved on to presenting classic musicals and in recent years has presented the very successful Solihull premiers of 'Titanic', 'The Scarlet Pimpernel', 'Beauty and the Beast' and in 2013 'The Sound of Music' which was a complete sell out. We are always looking for new members to join our wonderful group. It's not all about treading the boards, but there is a lot of background work which is essential to a good show, such as stage crew, wardrobe, front of house, props to name but a few. The Society rehearses at Bentley Heath C of E Primary School, Widney Road, Bentley Heath B93 9AS Wednesdays 7.30pm - 10.00pm
