Established in 1948, Farnworth Little Theatre is an amateur theatre group situated just outside Bolton. Our first full length play 'Night Must Fall', was presented in 1949, and since then we have offered a continuous programme of up to five full length productions a year. We are totally self-supporting, financing the running and upkeep of the theatre through box office takings, membership fees, charitable donations and regular fund-raising events. The theatre is run by volunteers and therefore offers many opportunities for people of all ages to get involved in a range of activities, from acting to wardrobe, lighting and sound to publicity and set-building. We have a thriving Youth Group for 11-18 year olds who also participate in many of the wider activities of the theatre. Why not come and meet us on one of our club nights – Thursdays from 8pm? Join us for a drink in the bar and find out more about how our Little Theatre is run. Box Office on 0845 643 0808 publicity@farnworthlittletheatre.co.uk

The Society was formed in 1930, and is affiliated to the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) and to the Greater Manchester Drama Federation (GMDF). In 1990 the junior section Hey Kids was formed. The society produces two full musicals each year : one for the senior section(16+) and one for Hey Kids (8 -18). The society also performs plays and concerts from time to time. The senior show is normally in early March each year, and the Hey Kids show in mid-October. All performances are held at Heywood Civic Centre. Rehearsals for the shows are normally held on Monday and Wednesday evenings, with additional Sunday afternoon rehearsals for the last few weeks before the show goes on. The rehearsals for the senior show usually run from October to March each year, and for the Hey Kids show from May to October, with a break for the summer holidays. Throughout the year the Hey Kids don their brightly coloured Hey Kids T-shirts and take part in various activities to raise money for their society. Such activities include bag packing at Morrisons Heywood, carol singing and various other activities. And as you can imagine singing Christmas carols in December wearing those T-shirts shows how committed these young thespians really are! Thank you to all the members of Hey Kids who take time to support the society in these activities as it is greatly appreciated; also many thanks to the people of Heywood who continuously support the society. Join Us If you're a budding thespian or interested in working backstage in our society (as part of Heywood Theatrical Services (HTS), all are welcome. Come and join the HAODS family, we'll welcome you with open arms. You don't need to be the next Barbara Streisand or Gene Kelly to be a member, just having enthusiasm and an interest in the theatrical world will do! Although our Junior section always has a waiting list it is still worth enquiring, as with each show we require new young people to take part. At the very least your name will be added to the waiting list and you will be contacted when a place becomes available. To enquire about membership please follow the link below, we can also add you to our mailing list and you can come and be one of our loyal audience and enjoy HAODS/Hey Kids productions for many years to come!
