We produce two shows per year, in Spring and Autumn, presenting a varied repertoire, mostly slanted towards modern musicals but not forgetting the more traditional operettas. In 2000 the society name changed to Sale And Altrincham Musical Theatre, (Sam Theatre as it's affectionately known) to reflect the modernisation of the society. Contact samtheatre@hotmail.co.uk

We were formed in 1941 and until 1999 were known as the Cestrian Male Voice Choir. The Choir has established itself, both nationally and internationally, as a major force in the world of male voice choirs. Our motto is ‘We Sing to Serve’ and over the years we have raised many thousands of pounds for charitable and other good causes. Come and Join Us - We Are Looking New Members We are actively seeking new singing members and anyone who thinks they might be interested is invited to come along to one of our rehearsals, particularly in January, February and March but at any time during the year. You’ll see who we are, (we’re a friendly, likeable bunch of ordinary guys!) what we do and how we do it. You can just sit and listen at the back of the hall without any pressure or obligation or you can, when you feel comfortable, sit in and have a go with the help of an experienced member. The benefit of coming along at this time of year is that we will be learning some new music from scratch and we are all therefore equally incompetent at the start of the process! You do NOT have to read music; it helps of course if you do, but most of us don’t / didn’t and you’ll quickly learn the basics that help understanding. You just need to enjoy singing and be able to sing in tune. There are no auditions, just find your voice and join in.Rehearsals are held at Hamilton Street Methodist Church Hall, Hoole, Chester, CH2 3HZ on Sundays from 7.45 and Wednesdays from 7.30 commencing from 8th January. Just turn up to a rehearsal a few minutes beforehand and we’ll make you very welcome. When - Tuesdays 6.30pm (during shows only, please email us for details) In February each year there is a Pantomime where children from the age of 7 experience the fun of appearing on stage with adult group members. Rehearsals begin in October, and as the performances approach there are practices on Sunday afternoons. Each year over 60 people are involved on stage or behind the scenes. Occasionally there are religious performances held in the Hall or in the Church. There are many roles within the Group, appearing on stage, stage building, lighting, sound, music, properties, costumes etc. Each performance requires a great team effort but provides a lot of enjoyment and friendship. We hold Drama Workshops on the first Saturday every month between 10am and 2pm, this includes dance, drama and craft activities.
