Tads are a friendly group who are fortunate enough to have their own 75 seater theatre here in Toddington. We are happy to welcome new members in all capacities - not only as actors,but as backstage crew,set designers,prop-makers or administrators et al. Joining a drama group is great way to get to know other people locally, and to focus those creative skills you've been hiding away. We put on three main productions per year, meet twice a week (usually Mondays & Thursdays) and have a youth section TADS Teens.Come and join us. The Conquest Players are a very small group with members of 11 years - 84 years old, we have been going for 21 years this year and we usually meet in Houghton Conquest on a Tuesday evening from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Please see contact details below for meeting location as this is currently subject to change. (children must be accompanied by a responsible adult). We are always looking for new members, whether you can help on and/or off stage. If you can act, sing, play a musical instrument, do some magic, help with scenery, or just want to feel involved by helping to make the tea you are most welcome to come and join our small group of players. We put on one or two shows a year including an annual pantomime which we usually stage in March. Did you take drama at school and wish to take to the stage again? Do you find you never get the chance for bigger roles? We are quite flexible and always try to find suitable parts for everyone. If you have talent, we will find it! We currently have about thirty full members plus helpers. Most productions are held at Wootton Village Hall, Church Road, Wootton, Beds. We have also presented productions at The Place theatre in Bedford. Rehearsals are held in Wootton most Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 pm.
Our small group offers you the opportunity to do as much or as little as you like, from producing or directing a panto to knocking up some set for a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon, or carrying a few props across the stage. We\’re eager for anyone and everyone to come along and get involved. We’re not pretentious luvvies, we’re not scary or intimidating - we’re just a group of local villagers, enthusiastic about having a laugh. Up-Stage is an award winning theatre company in Bedfordshire. We run regular youth drama clubs as well as adult plays by new writers. Westoning Players are a very sociable, friendly amateur dramatic group with members from Westoning and surrounding areas of Bedfordshire. The group was formed in 1975.We perform two or three productions a year, striving to include as many members as possible on stage and off. We are fortunate to have a pool of committed, skilled and willing members who are keen to be involved in all aspects of theatre-craft. Everyone is welcome to our weekly club nights on a Thursday evening at 7.45pm in Westoning Village Hall. (We meet then whether or not we are rehearsing for a production). Based in Wilstead, a small village 5 miles south of Bedford. We have a membership covering ages 8 to 70+ (Adult members 15, Young Players 30 & Patrons 35) The Patrons scheme aims to support the Players but also allows privileges such as priority booking, reserved seats for productions and access to Wilstead Players social events. Wilstead Players meet in the Village Hall for rehearsals on Sunday and Wednesday or Thursday evenings. We put on three high quality amateur productions per year and a one-act play, which is entered for local festivals. (Bedfordshire (Haynes), Luton, Cambridge, Welwyn and Letchworth.) Productions include drama, comedy and a pantomime, which usually involves large numbers of children. We have established a good reputation, on the one-act festival circuit, for quality productions. We are currently building up a regular Young Players group catering for ages 8 to 16 years. Our social programme includes an annual barbecue, a Patrons' cheese and wine evening and a Village quiz.
