'The Producers' is a hilarious record-breaking musical comedy that follows a scheming Broadway producer and his mousy accountant as they embark on their plan to produce the biggest flop on Broadway in Mel Brooks' laugh-out-loud spectacle! Based on the classic comedy cult film, 'The Producers' sets the standard for modern, outrageous in-your-face humour, having won 12 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The plot is simple: A down-on-his-luck Broadway producer and his mild-mannered accountant come up with a plan to produce the worst show possible, thereby scheming their financial backers ('little old ladies') out of millions of dollars. Follow Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom as they try to hire the worst director in NYC, raise the money and eventually produce the gloriously offensive 'Springtime for Hitler' before they finally learn their lesson! With a hysterical book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan, 'The Producers' is different from any other musical theatre piece you might witness as it takes no prisoners and proudly proclaims itself an 'equal opportunities offender'!
