Linlithgow Amateur Musical Productions ...known as LAMP, formed an amateur musical theatre company in 1985. After an overwhelming response for children to take part in our 1994 production of “Oliver”, we formed our Children’s Theatre in 1995.The adult company currently has approximately 60 members aged 16 and above, and performs an annual production in October of each year in Linlithgow Academy Theatre. Our children’s theatre has 50 members aged from 9 to 16, and performs its annual production in April. You can contact us by email at info@linlithgow-musicals.co.uk. We are an amateur dramatics group in the town of Linlithgow. Today we have an active membership of about 30 - 40, of all ages, and our activities are wide and varied. From November to January we read and rehearse for our annual pantomime performed on stage in the local Academy Theatre. During the Spring, when numbers allow, we perform a full length play, and in the Summer, at the invite of Historic Scotland, we can be seen most Sundays in August performing historical re-enactments, in full costume, of Mary, Queen of Scots, visit to her home in the magnificent setting of Linlithgow Palace. In October we put on Plays and Wine, an evening's entertainment of One Act plays and short sketches. We are always on the look out for new members whether it is to act or to help out with lighting or backstage. We rehearse on a Tuesday and Thursday from 7.30pm at the Low Port Centre, Linlithgow usually followed by a visit to the Pub Contact: enquires@linlithgowplayers.org.uk
The Barony Players formed as a group in 1954.Their dream of having a theatre space of their very own was realised in 1964 when they acquired the oldBorrowstoun Primary School on an annual lease basis. The Players worked tirelessly and transformed the old school into a small theatre, opening their doors in 1966 with a production of "The Amorous Prawn". Although improvements to the theatre have taken place many of the original features are still present a testament to the dedication and hard work of the founder members. We now have a 25 year lease of the building from Falkirk Council. All the theatre tasks are carried out by the members who willingly volunteer their time to keep the theatre up and running. It is hard work and new members are always welcome, just come along on a Wednesday night after 7.30 pm, lend a hand, audition for an acting role, whatever your skills they will be valued. We are a registered charity, and are members of the Scottish Community Drama Association and The Little Theatre Guild. For general enquires contact us via our website or social media
The Livingston Players (SCIO) is fully affiliated to The National Operatic and Dramatic Association and The Scottish Community Drama Association and over the years, we have won numerous drama awards for our quality of acting, production and staging, but we continue to strive for improvement in all areas. The Livingston Players perform three productions each year. One is a musical generally performed in the last week in May, and the other two are plays produced in January and October. We perform our shows in the refurbished Brian Duguid Auditorium at Howden Park Centre - a 300 seat custom built auditorium with full restaurant and bar facilities. Our rehearsals are on a Monday and Thursday evenings starting at 7.30pm usually at Carmondean Community Centre, Deans, Livingston. Contact: livingstonplayers@gmail.com
