Joining the Opera Company is quite straightforward - just turn up, sign-up, do a simple voice check, pay your subscription and, if OK, you are in. The voice check is to ensure that you can hold a melody while others are singing a different melody - and also to voice place you so that you sing in the section that best suits your voice. There may be a simple acting and movement audition but this is up to the producer - but nothing to worry about. Rehearsals usually take place on Tuesday evenings in the Milburn Academy school hall starting at 7:30 pm and finishing at 10:00 pm. Why not come along to see and hear what you could be joining? We will be delighted to see you there. Contact: invernessopera@gmail.com

Moray Street Drama Centre, 14/14a Moray Street, Wick, Caithness, KW1 5QF
We proudly own our own premises here in Wick. 'The clubrooms', as the complex is known, is located in Pulteneytown which forms the southern district of the town and over recent years the premises has been largely refurbished by the willingness and dedication of our members to become a fully equipped drama centre. With over 100 enthusiastic members which include both active members and patrons, our loyal audiences have grown to expect a high standard of performance which includes attention to detail in all departments; set design, costume, hair and make up, sound and lighting and of course, acting. Each of these departments play a vital role in the quality our productions.
We aim to stage a variety of shows throughout each year and we also work towards having an entry in the Scottish Community Drama Association's annual One-Act Play Festival, which is where we can learn to grow and adapt our skills in amateur dramatics. We aim to stage a pantomime on a biennial basis, which is always very much anticipated by both our members and the community and we aim to stage a play or musical in the years in between. ?New members are always most welcome, whether you might fancy "treading the boards" or helping out backstage we would be delighted to have you join us. You can contact us through our website or find us on social media.
