Dumbarton

Clydebank Musical Society was formed in 1981 to provide a platform for the development of local talent in all aspects of staging musical productions and encouraging an interest in the performing arts. The Society has not only fulfilled that requirement but has provided years of first class entertainment for Clydebank and surrounding areas.
The Adult Section has a thriving membership with ages ranging from 16 to 70 years. Rehearsals begin in September and help fill the dark winter months culminating in the show in March. Due to an overwhelming response to auditions for children for Oliver, our Junior Section was formed in 1990 for youngsters aged from 12 to 18 years of age. This section has gone from strength to strength and we consistently have a membership of at least 80 kids with a demand for places that far exceeds the numbers we can accept. In April of each year, we hold 'open workshops' for youngsters where they are given training, by our professional staff, in music, dance, and drama.
Some of our Junior members have enjoyed their taste of the stage so much that they have gone on to study music and drama at college or at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. We actively encourage our junior members to join the adult section when they reach 16 years of age, as we believe younger members to be the lifeblood of the Society.
In addition, CMS participate in West Dunbartonshire Council's Christmas show every year and we have a Concert Party who, on request, visit and entertain in homes for the elderly, churches and local community groups. Coupled with the various fundraising events throughout the year, you can be sure there is never a dull moment as a member of Clydebank Musical Society. If you'd like more information on how to join, Contact us via our website or social media
A very big thank you must go to our audiences, advertisers, sponsors and of course our members. None of the above would be have been possible without their support and loyalty over the years.

Kirkintilloch, East Dunbartonshire

Kirkintilloch Players is one of the oldest, amateur drama groups in Scotland, starting in 1923.Our membership ranges in ages from 10 years old- upwards. An active drama club requires members with a wide variety of talents and skills(actors, set builders, costume people, business and front of house ) and we are no exception.
We have our own 60 seat theatre in Eastside, Kirkintilloch which is the base for all our activities and performances.
Our yearly calendar is very busy and typically involves an adult full length play in the Autumn and Spring, a pantomime in January (in Lenzie Public Hall) and a youth summer show. We also enter the SCDA 1 Act Festival each year, usually entering an adult and youth play.
Our club also have wide variety of social events throughout the year.
The club is always looking for new members. Reading nights and auditions will be advertised on the website and in the local paper. People interested in helping with set design and building can go along to the Turret Theatre on any Wednesday night, 7-9pm and join in ( over 18s only). Or contact can be made with the club by email (link on the website)
