secretary@camps.me.uk Cumnock Area Musical Production Society, locally known as CAMPS, is a registered charity with a proven track record in providing regular access to musical theatre productions and training. Established for over 10 years and has produced a wide variety of musical theatre and concerts throughout the Cumnock and Doon Valley Area during this time. The group keeps going from strength to strength thanks mainly to the commitment and hard work of the members and the volunteers within the group. CAMPS also actively work with local school children by providing theatre workshops in a lead up to their productions providing children with the skills and the confidence required to enable young people to take guest roles in these productions. A wide variety of opportunities are currently available for members and/or volunteers including musical performance, drama, dance, set design, technical skills, costume and production skills. Membership is open to anyone interested in theatre, whether as a performer or behind the scenes for ages 11 to 14(Juniors) 15 + (Seniors), although currently there is a waiting list for junior members. Regular meetings take place on a Monday at Trinity Church Hall, Ayr Road, Cumnock and Wednesday at Cumnock Academy, Ayr Road, Cumnock from 7.00pm to 9,00pm both evenings New Developments As mentioned earlier Junior membership is currently full, however we are looking to address this by providing an additional evening to establish an independent junior section. This will also open up opportunities for our junior section to be able to attract and perform additional shows that, at present as an adult company, we are unable to get a performance licence for. If you are aged between 11 years and 19 years old and would like to hear more about membership, please contact us via our website or social media Calling on Volunteers If you feel you have the skills to assist with any of the above and are interested in helping out we would really like to hear from you. Also keep your eyes peeled for details of our next Open Day when you can come along and try out things for yourselves. Alternatively, come along to one of our regular nights. If you would like to come along as a volunteer or to find out more about membership, you will be made welcome by the members who will be pleased to answer any questions you may have.
