Bangor Drama Club

Facebook

Bangor, Co. Down

Bangor is situated on the North Down coast on the shores of Belfast Lough. The town dates back to the 6th century and was the site of one of the most important monastic settlements in Ireland. It was from here that St. Columbanus set out on his missionary work across Europe.
From the late 19th century to the middle of the 20th century it was a popular destination for day- trippers and holiday makers... mainly workers from Belfast just a 14 mile train ride away.
The Studio Theatre is snuggled away off Central Avenue
On average, the club puts on three productions a year and offers a range of Summer theatre productions by visiting companies in July and August. There are also regular play readings twice a month during the season.
Amateur theatre ...? Well we prefer the term, “Unpaid” because, although non-professional, we still believe in pursuing the highest production values.
Bangor Drama Club has reached the All Ireland Finals at Athlone 3 times in the last 5 years, won the Ulster Finals on many occasions and even the British One Act Finals.
We are always looking for new members who are interested in working on stage or behind the scenes....regardless of age or experience. So if you want to be a part of one of the most satisfying and exciting amateur events in Ireland, then contact us by email... via our website

Mill Theatre, Dundrum

The Glencullen Dundrum MDS is a musical and dramatic society with a history that stretches back to its foundation in 1971. Each year we perform at least one play and one musical with a live orchestra and, throughout the year, we rehearse, practice, prepare and socialise. While our early roots are in the Dublin mountains around Glencullen, today our members come form all over Dublin and our home has become the Mill Theatre Dundrum where we perform almost all of our shows. New members are always welcome to join – either to be on-stage or backstage. There’s always loads to do, plenty of challenges and a lot of fun to be had!

In addition to actors, it takes many people to create a successful production – backstage crew, make-up, set design and construction, costumes, sound, lighting and even directors.
If you would like to get involved with any aspect, contact us. You don’t necessarily need any experience, just enthusiasm and commitment!
We usually rehearse in St Tiernan’s Community School in Balally on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings and on some weekends in the Balally Scout’s Den.
If you are interested in joining, get in touch by emailing info@glencullendundrum.com
