Bryn Athyn Community Theater

Philadelphia

Suburban Philadelphia amateur company mounts two mainstage productions annually since 1981.
Bryn Athyn Community Theater, usually called "BAct" (say "BEE-act"), has been serving the Philadelphia region with high quality theatrical entertainment since 1981. Staffed entirely by volunteers, BAct presents two major productions a year: a fall production in October or November and a spring production in May or June. Productions run four or five performances over one or two weekends.

Concert Operetta Theater

Philadelphia

Fosters interest in the genre of operetta by presenting works in concert version to Philadelphia audiences.
Concert Operetta Theater is dedicated to presenting, preserving, and educating audiences about operetta through professional performances from the Golden, and Silver ages of operetta. A minimalist production concept highlights the story and the music, bringing the production closer to the audience in an intimate setting.
COT is the only performing arts group in the USA that produces operettas in a concert version in new translations or original language. These productions are unique because this type of music does not get performance time on a regular basis in the USA. In the past nine seasons Concert Operetta Theater has presented seventeen operettas, one USA premiere, and seven Philadelphia premieres.
Over one hundred forty performers has graced the stage, and pit of COT productions. Many have gone on to perform at The Metroplitian Opera, New York City Opera, Deutches Opern Berlin, Staats Oper Vienna, La Scala Milan, Paris Opera, St. Gallen Opera, Dallas Opera, Saint Louis Opera, Des Moines Opera, Opera Company of Philadelphia, and many more.

Main Line Opera Guild

Philadelphia

Performing fully-staged and concerted opera throughout the Philadelphia area.
The Main Line Opera Guild's mission is to bring fine vocal music to the community at a reasonable cost and to allow our members to share their talent with others.
Our group has been singing in the Philadelphia area in various venues since 1992. All of our members are trained classical singers who have sung professionally (some still do), but we also sing for the sheer love of it.
Ours programs can consist of solos and ensembles from varied sources of the vocal repertoire. We strive to bring variety and interest to each and every program. So, we will sing selections from grand opera, operetta, Broadway shows, classical art songs, Neapolitan songs and favorite songs from earlier in the last century such as Gershwin, Porter, Kern, etc. Our concerts really entertain our audiences, since there is "something for everyone".
We will custom design a program each time we are preparing to perform. In addition to concerts we are available to perform staged scenes, concert operas and staged works.
If you are interested in having the Main Line Opera Guild perform for your organization, be a part of your concert series, or liven up your next party, contact us by info@mainlineopera.com

Delaware County
Wallingford

Amateur musical theatre society based in Delaware Co., PA.
Over 100 years of community theatre.
The Rose Valley Chorus & Orchestra presented its first production, Gilbert & Sullivan's The Mikado, at the Artsman's Hall (now Hedgerow Theatre) in Rose Valley on November 21, 1907. This performance united the wealth of musical and dramatic talent resident in the arts and crafts colony of Rose Valley into a group that is still vibrant and successful 105 years (and over 160 shows) later! Today we perform in the beautiful and modern theater at Strath Haven Middle School in Wallingford.
Today the Rose Valley Chorus & Orchestra draws its membership from the entire Delaware Valley, a result of its reputation for presenting professional-quality theatrical productions. The voices of the principals and chorus, with the musicianship of the full 35-piece orchestra, rank among the best of the area's many community musical theater groups.
Rose Valley Chorus & Orchestra now has two major theatrical productions each season (Fall and Spring) which includes Gilbert & Sullivan operettas, Broadway musicals, and other assorted operettas. Stage participation as a principal or chorus member is determined by audition. Audition dates are announced in Stage, local papers, and our Website.
In 1997 Rose Valley Chorus & Orchestra purchased the old Middletown Firehouse in Media. Located at 184 Bortondale Road, it serves as our set contruction site and houses our extensive costume and props collection.
We are always looking for new members to participate either on stage, in the orchestra or behind the scenes as members of our production staff. To schedule an audition, or volunteer, please e-mail us for more information auditions@rvco.org
