Castlebridge, Co. Wexford

Bridge Drama is an amateur drama group based in Castlebridge, Co. Wexford
Our main aim is to present productions of the highest quality and entertainment value, while having the maximum amount of fun!!
Our group is open to anyone with an interest in the stage or getting involved behind the scenes.
Our year (officially!) begins in late August and the committee remains active until late June.
In October we produce a show which has in recent years has been a 'Night of Comedy' consisting of a number of short comedy plays. It has been held in the Porter House in Castlebridge and in the Talbot Hotel in Wexford town.
No sooner is the October production over when work begins on the year's main show, a 3 act play which opens locally in February before heading off on tour as part of the ADCI festival circuit, where we've competed since 2002.
The circuit production sometimes runs into May (depending on results!) but it's no sooner over than it's time for work to begin in picking next year plays!

Wexford

It all happened in 1994 when a group of like-minded people had a discussion in Michael Kelly’s pub. They came up with the idea to bring together young, inexperienced actors, singers and dancers with experienced players (of which Wexford has no shortage!) and to put on a show during the Wexford Opera Festival. This seed of inspiration turned into the Oyster Lane Theatre Group, who, through producing fifteen shows so far, have given breaks to dozens of new actors and singers and entertained thousands.

Wexford Light Opera Society

Facebook  Twitter

Wexford

Having Celebrated it’s Centenary Year 2011, Wexford Light Opera Society is one of the oldest musical societies in the country.
Beginning as the Wexford Amateur Operatic Society, W.L.O.S. can look back on a varied, and colourful legacy of musical involvement in Wexford town. Through those ten decades the Society has seen many changes, including three changes of name, and embraced many different facets of musical theatre – from the steadfast Gilbert and Sullivan pieces that were the societal back-bone through many decades, to the fast paced, electronically scored modern day musicals.
