KilkennyKilkenny Musical Society was founded in 1973 by the late Kitty Drohan and Donal O'Brien. The Society has the distinction of presenting a Musical each year without fail since then for the people of Kilkenny and surroundings. Early productions took place in the Friary Hall in Kilkenny City until the Society moved to the beautiful Watergate Theatre in 1994. The society has seen many fine performers tread the boards and evidence of the quality of these performances can be seen in the list of awards and nominations in the AIMS Awards Scheme.
