An amateur dramatic society established in 1985 and performing at least two plays each year in the Village Hall Abbots Bromley. The plays performed range from the most serious through to light comedy. In addition there are several social events around the village throughout the year. We currently meet on the first Thursday in every month at the Bagot Arms. The AMCS are constantly looking for new members, be it fresh new talent, old-time professionals or just plain old Bob. If you have the desire to be on stage, be involved in the production of a musical or concert, or if you want to help out in any way, then please get in touch. The Society have a production every May and every November, at either the exceptionally well facilitated Brownhills Community School Theatre or the well established and prestigious Prince of Wales Centre in Cannock.
In addition to the shows and concerts, AMCS also performs at private functions and for other groups who wish to be entertained by the multi-talented actors, singers and dancers. As a registered charity, the Society supports other charities by performing and raising funds whenever possible and has recently joined forces with Chadsmoor Choral Society and the Bridgtown Brass Band to raise funds for the Katharine House Hospice in Stafford.
Alsager Community Theatre (ACT) was founded in 1973. Artz Productions is a production company based in Staffordshire. Their focus is on community projects and productions, ranging from large scale concerts to fully staged musicals. As a company, Artz Productions is also owners of ALL WOMAN CHOIR - a 300 strong all female choir who have been together since 2011. They also run ALL ABOUT UKE - a 50 strong ukulele band who meet weekly and perform for special events and gigs in the area. ARTZ also produce full scale musicals bi-anually.

Our Name is “CWAGMS” Cannock Wood And Gentleshaw Musical Society. we are in the West Midlands area and our main town is Cannock, we perform to shows a year at the Prince Of wales Theatre Cannock Staffordshire. our web site is www.cwagms.co.uk CWAGMS was formed in 1977. In those days we numbered about 35 on stage, plus another 10-12 friends and relatives working backstage, front of house etc. Our first show, which we performed in our local Village Hall, was a little known musical/operetta called "Dick Turpin" Our membership now is in the region of about 75-100. We now perform two complete stage musicals each year; one in May and one in December. We also have an annual travelling variety musical show which begins in September and is performed throughout the year. We raise money for charities by performing our annual Concerts, "A Village Christmas" and "Music in the Park" at Beaudesert Scout and Guide Camp. Charities that benefit from us are: Air Ambulance. Child Victims of Crime, RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institute), St. John Ambulance, The Scout and Guide Movement and St Giles Hospice. We also raise funds for churches, halls and many other worthwhile causes. CWAGMS organises an annual weekend away to a seaside town, we perform one concert which entertains local residents and holiday makers helping to support our charities even more!! We have been to Morcambe, Gt Yarmouth, Llandudno, Minehead, Weston-Super-Mare and Lytham St Annes. If you would like to join us please do not hesitate to contact us. C.A.T.S. originated from the Carlos Players which were formed in the 1930s in Cheadle in the Staffordshire Moorlands. The Carlos Players used to perform at the local Church Hall, known as the Carlos Institute. In 1974, the Institute was demolished and the group moved their performances to the Lecture Theatre at Cheadle High School. The group changed its name to ‘Cheadle Amateur Theatrical Society’ or ‘C.A.T.S.’ for short. Since 1974, we have built up a reputation for our performances and attract our membership from the local area as well as further afield. We have won many awards both on stage, behind the scenes and front of house. We do at least 3 performances a year. In February, we perform our annual Traditional Pantomime, written and directed by our own members. In March/April we enter the All England One Act Play Festival and in late October C.A.T.S. perform the October play.The venue for our Pantomimes and October plays is the Cheadle Community Theatre, Cheadle Academy, Station Road, Cheadle, Staffs. We have around 50 members. Minimum age is 11 years, but we also have members of 70+. Why not contact us? We are constantly looking for new members both on stage and off. Rehearsals take place on Mondays and Friday evenings at Cheadle County Primary School, Cheadle. Pentomime rehearsals start in early November and the October play rehearsals commence in May. St Peters Church Hall, Chellaston, Derby Chellaston Players are a Derby based amateur theatre company performing at venues in Chellaston and Derby. Chellaston Players was formed in 1975 after nine people from Chellaston responded to Edna Ford's advertisement for a new drama group. The group had no money, no props, no scenery, and limited experience but this didn't stop them! Since our humble beginnings, Chellaston Players have grown from strength to strength. A number of our members have received accolades and awards from the Derby Amateur Theatre Association and some have gone on to professional jobs, including one BAFTA winner in 2011!. Chesterfield Operatic Society consists of around 60 members of all ages. With well over a hundred years of history, the Operatic as it is affectionatly known, is one of the best amateur theatre companies in the East Midlands. We're not just saying that either, we regularly win awards for Best Musical in the area and have also won the Cole Hinks Award for Best Overall Performance, beating groups from as far afield as Milton Keynes. We rehearse on Monday and Wednesday at the Society's own building at 5A Abercrombie Street, Chesterfield. We perform twice a year at the Pomegranate Theatre, Chesterfield with a show in April/May and one in November. Much work goes into the final product to create a polished performance.
