Formed in 1935 and enjoying an international reputation as a leading exponent of male choral singing, the Morriston Orpheus Choir is in constant demand performing around 25 engagements annually. The Choir undertakes performances on television, at national and promotional events and provides corporate and after-dinner entertainment. This famous Welsh male voice choir can provide a complete show, including solo artistes. The Choir is also available to sing at weddings.
The Morriston Orpheus Choir is always on the look out for new recruits: Young or not so young. A solo quality voice is not essential but you will need the ability to sing in tune and be able to learn and retain an extensive repertoire as we sing without music copies. Just as important is the ability to blend in with others both musically and socially. We work hard at our music, but are not elitist. We are friendly and sociable with a wide spread and intensely loyal band of supporters.
Our rehearsals take place each Sunday and Wednesday (with exceptions) from 7:00-9:00pm at The Great Hall of Swansea University's Bay Campus, Fabian Way, Swansea SA1 8EN

Port Talbot Little Theatre

Port Talbot, West Glamorgan

We meet & rehearse in Wesley Chapel hall in Taibach on Fridays and also on Tuesdays when we are rehearsing productions..
We are always pleased to welcome new members in any capacity. Putting on a play doesn’t just call for good actors. It requires a very wide range of skills from carpentry and general DIY to financial and administrative and not least the ability to make a good cup of tea!
Not sure if amateur dramatics are for you? Then why not come along and meet us. There is no obligation to join, so If you would like to try something different come along to Wesley Chapel hall. The Society ranges in age from early 20s to over 60.
We all have a wide range of backgrounds but what unites us is our love of live theatre and the challenge of putting on two productions a year. Those challenges mean we have to work as a team and this results in a close knit “family” atmosphere.
We meet on Fridays at 7.30pm in the hall at Wesley Chapel, Taibach, Port Talbot. We also meet on Tuesdays when rehearsing for a production. The Society also has a very long standing unofficial association with Aberavon RFC’s Social Club and members can normally be found at the Manor Street Clubhouse after rehearsals on a Friday. Additionally, there is an annual Dinner & Dance, usually held in January. We also visit, from time to time, other local societies’ productions as well as the professional theatre.
We love to welcome new members and, as an amateur society, it isn’t a requirement to have had any previous acting experience.
We regret that for insurance reasons we don’t have a youth section and can’t take members under 18.
