Barnstormers

Facebook  Twitter

Patcham, Brighton

“Barnstormers” is an affiliated group within Patcham Methodist Church, which presents regular musical theatre productions in the Church hall and has been known to “tour” other locations in the Brighton area. Barnstormers is open to anyone who wants to have fun on stage or off regardless of age, beliefs or ability.
The group provides the chance to develop confidence, new skills and friendships through: acting, dancing and singing; design & costume/set making; sound and lighting design/set up; and organisational/delegation skills no matter what your experience, age or background. There really is something for everyone! Barnstormer’s success can be seen from the numbers of new people who are keen to get involved every year (usually with no experience on or off stage) and the regulars who come back to see us every year!

Billingshurst, West Sussex

We put on two productions a year, usually October and May/June in the West Sussex state school half-term week. They may be either three or four night runs (between Wed-Sat).
Our shows are usually performed at the Women’s Hall, High Street, Billingshurst. Very occasionally, we may put on a production at Fishers Farm Park Theatre at Wisborough Green, usually when production dates cannot be timed to coincide with the school half term dates.
Members should be available to help set-build in the two weekends before a production, and to strike the set usually on the Sunday immediately after. The more help we can get the better, including anyone not directly involved in the production. These weekends can include a visit to a local pub for lunch...
In addition, we provide a meal followed by an hour’s revue-style entertainment for our Patrons’ Party in February. This is usually held in the theatre at Fishers Farm. There are plenty of opportunities here for involvement in some way: singing, dancing, acting in sketches and helping serve food to our Patrons before the show.
We also go on theatre outings two or three times a year and hold informal playreadings between June - August.
Our AGM takes place at the end of June each year when subscriptions are due. Members subs are currently £25 per year, and if you join part way through the year the sub is proportioned.

Boxstep Theatre Company

Bognor Regis, West Sussex

A new Theatre Company with bases in Surrey and West Sussex, Boxstep was formed to provide talented performers with the opportunity to take part in the multitude of small cast musicals which are seldom performed. The company was formed in 2008 although the team had worked together on other projects. The first full scale show was 'Dames at Sea' which was performed to great critical acclaim at the Electric Theatre, Guildford in April 2009.

Chichester Players

Facebook  Twitter

Chichester

"I am proud I was a Chichester Player" - Brenda Blethyn, Chichester Observer, 2nd October 2008
Chichester Players is the local amateur dramatic society for Chichester and the surrounding areas. It has a large group of members, ranging from 18 year olds to those in their 80s, and plans to run a number of events for children beginning in early 2010. It also caters for an equally large variety of abilities, with a number of talented and experienced actors as well as those who (like the current Chairman!) rely more on enthusiasm than any acting skill.
Chichester Players put on three plays a year, at Christmas, Spring, and Summer, and hold rehearsals for these plays on Mondays and Thursdays on most weeks between September and June. Both rehearsals and performances take place at The New Park Centre
New actors are always very welcome to join the group, whether they have years of theatrical experience or none at all. We are also always on the look out for those who prefer to help back stage, with set & costume design, set construction, dressmaking, programme selling, poster design and stage management. Anyone interested should contact the Chairman, Tom Worthen, on 07999 929222, or thomas.worthen@lincoln.ox.ac.uk

There are plenty of places for non-acting members in the production of the group's three plays. The group rehearses twice a week. Information about the group, our contact details and our current and previous productions can be found on our website.
