We are a highly-respected amateur dramatic society founded in 1934 to perform Shakespeare's plays annually in the open air.
Today we have grown to a programme of eight productions a year by vastly differing playwrights from ancient Greece to the modern day. In addition, we have two shows by our Youth Theatre groups.
We have our own theatre, the Mary Wallace Theatre by the riverside in Twickenham. Our Summer Show is an Open Air production, in the gardens of neighbouring York House.
Please note that the Mary Wallace is a Club Theatre and that only members of the R.S.S. may buy tickets. However, becoming a member is easy and costs only £10; members may buy tickets for friends and family. The Summer Show is open to non-members.

Riverside Opera

Facebook  Twitter

Epsom

Since its formation in 1995, Riverside Opera has aimed to be “Community opera at its best”. At its heart is a chorus of nearly forty enthusiastic amateur singers. For each production we welcome new singers to the Chorus and to the world of opera. In the principal roles, Riverside Opera employs professional singers, often at the start of their careers. A professional Director and orchestral players join the Music Director and Chorus, and the company aims to provide a bridge for aspiring young singers between their postgraduate studies and the professional world beyond.
Riverside Opera performs one major opera each year as well as concerts of operatic music at local venues.

Carshalton

SADC, one of the longest-established community drama groups in the country, stages three productions a year (March, June and November), usually performed at the Charles Cryer Studio Theatre in Carshalton, Surrey. We aim to cover the widest possible range of theatre: comedy and tragedy, classic and modern, light entertainment and challenging drama. While many of our productions include music, our range does not include standard musicals.
School, our first production "School", our first production in 1902
We strive to mount productions of the highest standard and most of our actors and backstage people are very talented and experienced. However, there is always room for newcomers, including those with little or no experience. What we ask for is enthusiasm and commitment and we will endeavour to discover the talent.
The Cherry Orchard "The Cherry Orchard", our 276th production in 2008
SADC is relatively large for a drama club; it currently has around 70 members of all ages and backgrounds. Although we do not claim to be a social club, we do have several social events throughout the year, which are publicised in our regular members' newsletter, TABS. SADC is a very friendly group and all are very welcome to take part in our activities.
