Mayhem Musical Theatre Company

Sutton, South Wimbledon, Morden

Mayhem Musical Theatre Company (MMTC) was formed in 2006. We are based in South London and usually perform in the Sutton / Kingston / Epsom area. MMTC in its present form is a progression from a previous company called Mayhem Productions. Running successfully for ten years Mayhem Productions produced diverse and successful shows such as Little Shop of Horrors, Into the Woods, Oliver, Chess and Guys ‘n’ Dolls. Since MMTC was formed, we have produced a range of successful shows including We Will Rock You, Godspell, Into the Woods, Closer than Ever, Saucy Jack & the Space Vixens and Seussical the Musical.
MMTC aims to build on the solid foundation and experience developed over this time to continue to deliver accessible and innovative musical theatre in south west London.
We are an amateur company, but strive to produce theatre of a professional standard. We aim to provide high quality final productions combined with a relaxed, enjoyable and creative rehearsal process which offers a genuine opportunity for anyone interested in musical theatre - whether it is performing, directing, musical direction, dance, choreography, stage management, design, set construction, lighting, or publicity.
Any musical group revolves around its shows and membership and to that end we aim to stage two main productions a year - plus some smaller scale projects - selecting shows over the year that offer opportunities for the membership, interesting and vibrant theatre for the audience and an opportunity for the Company to grow and have a secure financial and membership base for the future. We are NODA affiliated.

Merstham

Merstham Amateur Dramatic Society (MADS) was founded back in 1930, (originally as an Operatic & Dramatic Society and in the days when rehearsals were conducted in evening dress!).
The Society was re-started after World War II, by Merstham author and actress Joy Anderson and went on to become one of the foremost Amateur Societies in the area. Plays are performed once a year at our home, the purpose-built little theatre which is Merstham Village Hall. The Society was a founder member of the Betchworth Drama Festival of One-act Plays (now called the Southern Counties Drama Festival) and notched up many successes in this local competition. We also competed in the now defunct Croydon Festival of Full Length Plays and have presented many plays in the Harlequin Theatre, Redhill.

Miller Centre Theatre Company

Twitter

Caterham

The Miller Centre Players was formed in 1991 following a merger of the Miller Centre Workshop and the Caterham Players.
Nine productions are staged each season, each running for nine performances. Rehearsals normally run for six weeks (three weeks in the Studio and three weeks in the theatre) and are usually held on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 8pm with one or two Sunday afternoons. Auditions are open to non-members although membership is required for participation in a production.
Anyone not wishing to tread the boards will find ample opportunity for involvement in a live theatre environment as all aspects of the productions are undertaken by members whether it be stage management, lighting, sound, wardrobe, set design and construction or scenery painting. Lack of experience is no barrier - our aim is for enjoyment coupled with a sense of achievement and the satisfaction of earning a good reputation with our audience.
In 2010, the name of the charity was changed to The Miller Centre Theatre Company although the previous name, Miller Centre Players, was retained as a registered working name.
A regular newsletter, ‘On Stage’, keeps members informed and new members are always welcome.

Opera Holloway

Egham

Opera Holloway was set up in 2009 in order to give young artists the opportunity to perform in their first operas at the early stages of their careers, and to present accessible performances to students and the public alike. The group are currently based at Royal Holloway University which has a reputation for fine singers and the company offers them a safe vocal environment to gain valuable experience in the world of opera. As part of the company singers attend workshops run by professionals and are given concert opportunities to raise money for the next production alongside their rehearsal schedule. Opera Holloway's initiative is also to bring opera to audiences who would not usually go to see an opera or are not able to. One of the latest initiatives is to run school workshops where children spend a day with the company acting and singing in preparation for a concert ...
For any more information about the group, tickets, workshops or productions, please don\’t hesitate to contact us, we’ll respond as quickly as possible.

Ottershaw Players

Ottershaw

We are an friendly, amateur, community-based drama group based in Ottershaw, Surrey since 1963. Our emphasis is on comedies and straight plays, rather than musicals, though we have been known to break our own rule sometimes.
Currently we perform two major shows a year at the Rhoda McGaw Theatre in Woking, along with smaller shows locally in our village hall, Brook Hall. Each Christmas we will do a production aimed towards children, though pantomimes are not our thing.
We are always looking for more talent on stage, backstage, front of house or in an administrative role. While we encourage all our members to strive towards excellence and imrpovement in all their roles, our main priority is entertainment, both for ourselves and our audiences.

PH Productions

Guildford

PH Productions was formed in November 2009 by Alex Parker and Catharine Humphrys, after their successful collaboration on COME ONE, COME ALL in September 2009, at The Electric Theatre, Guildford. Alex created extravagant orchestral arrangements of his favourite show-stoppers from the major Musicals of the last 25 years and formed a eighteen-piece orchestra of young musicians. Together with a valiant troupe of singers and dancers they performed solos, duets and rousing ensemble songs that delighted their audience.
In January 2010, the company put on RAISE YOUR VOICE, a concert of ensemble musical theatre songs at the Farnham Maltings with a cast made up of singers from Surrey. The twist on the event was that it was rehearsed in just forty-eight hours. A fourteen-piece orchestra accompanied the concert.
In July 2010, PH Productions put on a concert of RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN songs at the Electric Theatre. The concert brought together sixteen fantastic local singers as well as forty of England's best young musicians.
Since then, the company have started to produce full scale musicals as well as more concerts.
