The Otley Players

Otley

Formed in 1984, when the original village drama group closed, the Otley Players are a small amateur dramatic group in Suffolk, England. You will see from our previous productions page that we stage a wide variety of shows. We are a charitable organisation, having a small membership with a wide range of talents.
Our productions are staged in our local village hall. The stage here measures 5 metres wide by 3 metres deep with a maximum height in the wings of 2 metres. This, being a small acting area for plays of today, means that we require a stage extension. Until recently a mixture of staging and milk crates have been used to extend the stage an additional 5 metres wide by 4 metres deep into the village hall. This stage extension together with our raked seating makes for a perfect atmosphere for an audience of about 90 people.
We believe that the word "amateur" is only a sign of our unpaid status and this does not reflect the true standard of the shows we produce.
We are open to new members both on stage and back stage. If you would like to become involved, please email us at info

Walsham Le Willows Drama Group

Walsham Le Willows

The Walsham Drama Group was formed way back in 1992 by a group of friends looking for a way to while away the long dark evenings of a Walsham winter. What they came up with, as their first production, was a pantomime, which proved to be such a success that they have never looked back. Their performances are held in the village Memorial Hall on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday night early in February with a Saturday matinee to draw in the children. The script writers are both members of the group, (not to mention pillars of the community), so their shows contain plenty of local humour and topical gags - audience participation is strictly encouraged! New members of all ages and abilities are always welcome, to help both on and off the stage. Anyone interested in joining can contact Fran Harding on 01359 259693 for more information.

In other words, we put on musical shows so that everyone might realise just how good this form of entertainment is, and we help local singers, actors & stage people develop their skills in musical theatre.
