Contact via info@cof4.co.uk In 1972, four youth club members, Harry Reeve, John Morris, Michael Warden and Don Spall met in the tea room of the Woodbridge cinema and took the decision to break away from the 'Woodbridge Youth Club' (a company that had been staging shows in the area since the 1950s) and form a new company. Since there were four of them in the room at the time, they decided on the name COMPANY OF FOUR.  |

Felixstowe
Felixstowe Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society was formed in 1946 and is the oldest established amateur dramatic and operatic society in Felixstowe. We currently have an adult Drama section and put on a number of productions each year from one act plays, entered in local festivals and often written by our own award winning authors, to full length productions. We have our own premises at 312A High Street, Walton, Felixstowe, IP11 9QJ (behind the Basics Charity Shop opposite the Half Moon public house) which is used for rehearsals and for entertainments for members and their friends and families. Occasionally we also mount productions for the public in this building. We offer Costumes and Props for hire at very reasonable rates. FADOS House is also available for hire for various functions either for a single event or on a recurring basis. We are always looking for new members to join us - whether as actors, directors, scenery builders/designers, back stage or front-of-house or anyone with an interest in the theatre. Trimley Welcome Hall Trimley St Martin Memorial Hall
Felixstowe Musical Theatre started in 1966 as an evening class under the auspices of the Adult Education Centre and met for rehearsals in what is now Orwell High school. Their first production – Salad Days- at the school was so successful it was decided to put their next show – Free as Air- on at the Spa Pavilion. At about this time the fees payable for being an evening class rose to £1 .10s (£1.50) a head per term and we thought we could do better if we were independent! After this, rehearsals have been held at various venues in the town and we have been settled for many years now in the Welcome Hall, Trimley St Mary. We also became affiliated to N.O.D.A ( National Operatic and Dramatic Association) whose advice and support has been invaluable over the years. At first we only did one major musical per year and had a Road Show which travelled round the nearby villages, but in 1971 decided on two productions a year at the Spa . In the early 90’s we started our format of a musical in summer and a pantomime in the winter. Over the years we have supported many charities, mostly local, and the proceeds of the in-house raffle at the Spa during ‘Peter Pan’ supported the Ipswich Children’s Hospice. After our performance of ‘Underneath the Arches’ in 1998 we felt very honoured when Roy Hudd agreed to become our president.
