Old Buckenham Players

Old Buckenham

We are a drama group which meets every Thursday at the Old Buckenham Village Hall. We perform a wide variety of shows from comedies to Shakespeare, although the latter only once! In January, we normally produce a pantomime or seasonal play, while in May we aim to do a full length play which is usually either a comedy or drama. In September the mood is usually a bit more relaxed, with an evening of one-act plays sometimes with music or entertainment in an informal setting with simple food or nibbles! We have around 25-30 members, some of who are staunchly involved in every show while others dip in and out depending upon other committments. Our group is truly diverse, with members from all sorts of backgrounds and of all ages from 14 to older than some will admit to! Surprisingly, most of our members do not actually live in Old Buckenham although we all have links here and are fond of the village. We usually try to organise social trips and even known to have a barbeque in the summer! Old Buckenham Players is a friendly and relaxed group, so we all work around each others' commitments. If you fancy getting involved, you don't need any experience just enthusiasm, commitment and a readiness to learn and develop together with others around you. You can get involved with backstage work if you don't want to act! If you want to get involved then get in touch with us. So why not have a look at what we're up to, or what we're planning to do and see if you fancy getting involved or simply coming to watch one of our productions!

Pulham Players

Pulham Market, Nr Diss

Musicals, Junior Productions and Pantomimes
Age Range: 8 Years
Rehearsals: Friday and sometimes Wednesday
We are a lively and dedicated group who enjoy performing. Our members are drawn from a number of the villages local to Pulham Market. We have both adult and junior members, the eldest member is aged 75 and the youngest is aged 8. We have a good reputation for our Productions which have been taking place in Pulham since the group re-formed in 1981, in order to raise funds for a village hall extension. Before that there has been a long history of amateur productions in Pulham dating back to the 1890's. Our performances take place on stage in the Pulham Market Memorial Hall. We usually stage three main productions each year, which includes a Pantomime in January and a musical in June. We rehearse in the Hall most Friday evenings and sometimes on a Wednesday. We welcome new members to join us either on stage or in the many other areas involved in a production. We have Scenery, Prop-making, costumes, Backstage or helping Front of house on the Performance Nights.

Rackheath Players

Rackheath Players a small but friendly amateur dramatic society based in the village of Rackheath, just on the north eastern outskirts of Norwich.
We stage three productions a year - traditionally a pantomime/family show in February involving many local children, and two other productions, one in Spring/ early Summer and one in the Autumn
Our output is varied - comedy, drama, pantomime, variety show, music hall, full length plays or one act plays - giving wide scope for people to try a bit of everything.
We are always looking for new members, and have a relative shortage of males and are looking for people with music playing abilities. Also anyone whose interest is not on-stage are welcome as well, as there is plenty of backstage and technical jobs to do.
Rehearsals are held weekly at 8.00pm on a Thursday, at Rackheath Village Hall. As a production draws near, more frequent and slightly earlier rehearsals are held.
