MAD Mob started in 1992 as the Leyland Methodist Junior Choir and the members at that time decided to call themselves the MAD (Music & Drama) Mob! The name stuck and nowadays (with their 20th anniversary looming in 2012) the MAD Mob has over 80 members, all aged between 8 and 18.

Mawdesley

Mawdesley Amateur Dramatics Society (MADS) is a well established drama group based at Mawdesley Village Hall in the picturesque village of Mawdesley in Lancashire. The society was created in the early 1970s by members of the local WI. In 1974 after the official opening of the new Mawdesley Village Hall local residents were asked to produce a pantomime. This production of Cinderella was so successful that members of the cast decided to form a drama society and Mawdesley Amateur Dramatics Society was born.
Today we usually produce three productions a year: a Play, a Variety Show or Murder Mystery and a Pantomime. MADS meets on a Wednesday evening at the Village Hall at 7.45pm. All newcomers are most welcome – the annual subscription is small and all interests are catered for – acting, stage, costume, painting, props etc.
A warm welcome is extended to all!
Mawdesley Amateur Dramatics Society is NODA affiliated

Morecambe Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society

8 Pemberton Drive, Morecambe, Lancashire LA4 6SL

Morecambe Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society, so named in 1904 after the group's first performances as St Barnabas Players in 1903, quickly became known as Morecambe Amateurs to local audiences. Originally performing plays and comic operas, the increasing popularity of musicals resulted in MAODS producing their first musical in 1916. From 1920 onwards Vincent Mayor produced and acted in the shows for many years. Vincent was the uncle of the current society President, Norman Mayor. In the early years MAODS performed in The Royalty Theatre then moved to The Winter Gardens in the late 1940s. We now perform annually at The Lancaster Grand Theatre. Morecambe Amateurs are affiliated to the National and Operatic Dramatic Association.email
