On the 10th December 1991 the Conquest Theatre opened its doors for the first time on the present site and since that date has gone from strength to strength. The facilities now available are on a par with professional venues and we present every form of the Arts. The theatre is run by volunteers and prides itself on being totally independent.
Bromyard has had a theatre group since 1950. Since 1991 it has enjoyed a purpose built, designed theatre at its present location and is one of the attractive features of the town. It provides a wealth of opportunity and entertainment for all ages, a Centre for live performing arts.
The Conquest offers many kinds of entertainment: plays, variety, musicals, operetta, ballet, pantomime and concerts, and is a favourite with many professional groups and performers. The Conquest also supports an active and vibrant youth theatre
Goodrich, near Ross-on-Wye
Based where the three counties of Monmouthshire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire meet, hands on has been producing exciting and dynamic theatre for ten years now. Its work - a mixture of existing scripts and the company’s own adaptations - aims to be relevant, powerful, of the highest quality and above all, to make people feel something.hands on was born of friendship and a shared love of theatre. We work with each other because there is nobody we would rather work with and because we believe in the quality of what we can produce together. With a vast amount of experience and training between us, hands on is dynamic and fluid at the same time as having firm, strong roots.

HAPS was established in 1982 from the remaining members of the Wiggin Panto Group, which was disbanded when facilities at Wiggin Alloys became unavailable. The society prides itself on being a fun, friendly group of dedicated people who perform an annual pantomime of their choice and in consequence, raise money for local good causes and charities.
Our shows are generally performed at the Courtyard Theatre in Hereford during the half-term week in February each year. We encourage families to join as there are always jobs for willing Mums, Dads, brothers and sisters to do if they do not wish to go on the stage. This includes Backstage, Front of House, Chaperones for the young children and props, make-up and costume help. We are always grateful to receive any help as each production depends heavily on the people kind enough to volunteer their time.

At least once a year we perform a show, usually one of the famous operattas by W. S. Gilbert and Sir Arthur Sullivan at our local theatre, The Courtyard in Hereford. We also perform in concerts around the county, singing a variety of songs from the traditional G&S tunes to the more modern melodies from musicals that are currently at the West End, including favourites such as Wicked and Les Miserables.
We are always looking for new members to join us to take part in singing, performing or helping out back-stage and we try to be a bit sociable too! We are also keen to attract new patrons and sponsors of the Society.
We meet every Tuesday evening at 7.30p.m. Rehearsals are held at Breinton Village Hall, Breinton, Herefordshire. If anyone is interested in coming along, drop us a line at contact We'd love to meet you!

The Market Theatre is situated near the town centre, in Market Street. Ledbury Amateur Dramatic Society (LADS) runs the theatre, mounting three of its own productions a year. They also show films on a regular basis and play host to small and mid-scale professional touring shows, including events in the Ledbury Poetry Festival. The society has its own active youth theatre, which mounts productions throughout the year, giving local children a chance to participate in drama outside of an educational establishment.
LADS produce all types of show, usually drama and comedy, with a production in late Spring, one in Autumn and a pantomime at the end of January/ February all presented in our own theatre in the heart of Ledbury, Our general meetings are usually held in the foyer on the first Monday of the month except Bank Holidays

OUR STAR THEATRE COMPANY
A new and vibrant Herefordshire based theatre company, driven to create new and unique pieces of theatre, made to engage the audience.
We undertake five major productions each year and a number of other events slotted into our programme as time and availability permits Our productions are chosen carefully to provide a balanced season with 'something for everyone'. We believe that the plays we present are, at least, 'good of their type'. Each runs for six nights and usually plays to audiences of around 90%
We also have an active choral section that regularly produces musical productions. Add to this a members poetry evening or two, play-readings and cinema and you can see that we're a very busy society. With such a full programme of events we need every bit of help we can get. There's plenty of opportunity for you to be part of this happy society.
Today the society is numerically strong, having around one hundred full and one hundred and fifty associate members. But numbers are perhaps a little misleading. Not all our full members are actors, and since all amateurs have other commitments, it's not always easy to select a full cast and crew for some of the plays which we'd like to present.
That's where you come in. We'd love to see more local people becoming involved with our theatre. You do not need to be experienced or have tried and tested talent. Just come along and have a go. It's enormous fun.
