Bath Theatre School

Bath

Get a head start with Bath’s only theatre school to offer nationally recognised qualifications in musical theatre as standard, for no more than you would expect to pay with any other similar drama club. The exams from Trinity College London can build towards a future in performing and offer a firm foundation for those looking to take their performing to the next level. At the same time this training is specifically geared towards developing essential life skills, such as, team work, communication, public speaking, co-ordination; so if you’re not looking to perform professionally then the training has a wealth of positives that all children can benefit from.
Our experienced staff provide coaching in drama, singing and dance, which is all used to full effect in our whole school production. During the year we also invite guest performers and artists to provide Master Classes so that they can share their skills and experience with our students.
But most importantly everything is run with fun in mind, so Bath Theatre School is a fantastic place to find new friends and build your confidence.
Come along for a free taster session – we’re sure that you’ll have a great time!
Bath Theatre School is run from Beechen Cliff School on Saturday mornings during term time 9.30am - 12.30pm.

We rehearse at Ashton Vale Primary School, Avebury Road, Ashton Gate, Bristol

Bristol Musical Theatre was formed in 1946 by a group of friends with a shared interest in theatre. Up until recently, we were formerly known as 'The Western Opera Players'.
To celebrate our '70th anniversary' in 2016, we decided to adapt our society name to quite simply represent who we are and what we do. Bristol Musical Theatre is exactly this and we LOVE it! Our first production was The Gondoliers in 1947. The productions were staged at The Victoria Rooms in Clifton,Bristol until the early 1990's when the company moved to the Redgrave Theatre, also in Clifton.
We rehearse from September at Ashton Vale Primary School in Bristol on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, working hard to produce our main production which we stage in April every year. During the rest of the year, we enjoy taking part in charity and community events such as carol singing and summer fetes.
We often produce concerts for local charities and organisations and love giving something back to the community! Recently we have performed at the following venues:
Leonard Cheshire Disability Cossham Gardens, Kingswood
Beech house ltd Thornbury
'The Galleries' Bristol
'The Mall' at Cribbs Causeway
We are always keen to welcome new members.
Auditions for membership are usually at the start of rehearsals in September. We do need extra cast especially men, so if you are interested please contact us.
To audition you will need to have a musical number and a short piece of script prepared.

Clevedon Comedy Club

Clevedon

Clevedon Comedy Club was formed when a few people (Maureen and Alan Smith, Doug and Barbara Stinchcombe, Sid Martin and Frank Chesterman) were rehearsing for an entertainment at a Harvest Supper. After rehearsal all went back to the Smiths' for coffee and discussed the type of show that was missing in Clevedon. That was on 20th September 1970. There was already in existence a Drama Club and an Opera Club, but at that time nothing in light entertainment - and nothing to encourage youngsters to join. It was decided to form a family club and concentrate on light entertainment and pantomime. It would be called The Comedy Club.
