URGENT CASTING CALL- short film
Hi I’m making a short film in Leeds and was wondering if you had an actors who would be interested in helping out.
This is the full casting call if anyone is interested:
Production title: Through the Barrel
Production Type: Student
Project length: Short film (approx 3 minutes)
Production location: Leeds
Production company: Leeds Art University
Company website: www.leeds-art.ac.uk
Director: Amba Royston
Producer: Jack Foulkes
Audition location: Leeds Arts University, Blenheim Walk, LS2 9AQ
Audition date: Thursday 29th November (14:00-17:00- time slots will be allocated)
Filming dates: Tuesday 4th December and Wednesday 5th December 2018
Synopsis: Based off the vigilant groups in Northern Island who police there communities. Giving it warnings to those who commit crimes, and shooting them in the knee caps after multiple offences.
Reference to understand the storyline better: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer
Character Bio’s
Leo- male- aged 17-21
Leo has been given his final warning after commuting multiple crimes of antisocial behaviour. This means he’s been given an appointment. Where two vigilant members will come to his house and shoot him in the knees caps for what he’s done. He’s a pro footballer with his life ahead of him. If he gets shot in the knee caps his dreams of ever playing again will be ruined.
The character playing Leo must be able to do an Irish accent. Ideally he should be between 5,10-6,1. With a natural hair colour.
Figure 1- male- aged 20-30
One of the members of the vigilante group. Will be wearing a balaclava so it is not important what he looks like visually. Most of his identity remains a secret but we do find out he is a big Man U fan. He is also more sympathetic to Leo. This is his first time going out and shooting someone and he realises just how real it is.
Must be able to do an Irish accent.
Figure 2- male- aged 20-50
Another member of the vigilant group who has come to shoot also. He is a lot harsher than the other member. He has done this multiple times and doesn’t want to here what Leo has to say. He has come to do a job and he won’t leave without it being accomplished. He is willing to turn against his own friend to get the job done for the cause. Again he will be wearing a balaclava so facially it’s not important what he looks like.
Must be able to do an Irish accent.
Further information: Although we cannot offer pay. We will cover any travel costs and provide some snacks and drinks when filming. It is also a great opportunity to calloborate, and we hope to enter the film into film festivals. So it will also help the actors involved to gain some exposure. Your names will be included in the credits and be given a copy of the film.
For any further information please do not hesitate to ask via the email I’ve provided. If you would like to audition please send a headshot and information about which role you will be auditioning for. I hope to hear back soon.
Thanks

Short film needs actors
I’m Leire Valle an exchange student form Spain. I’m studying in Staffordshire University. I’m currently working on my last year project. I’m filming a short film and I’m looking for actors.
I’m looking for two English women of about 30-50 years old, and other two women of about 50-70 years old. They don’t need to be exactly that years old, it could be people that look like or are good at acting as a woman of that age.
This short film is my Last Year Project for the Staffordshire University. As it is a student’s project we wouldn’t pay for the acting, but other expenses will be covered.
The short film is a kind of reflection of today’s society and how technology has affected us in a bad way. The actors don’t need to speak because it is going to be just some images with a voice over. Just one of them, whose voice is going to be recorded for the voice-over.
We would like to shoot it during the next two weeks but can listen to any suggestion. They are going to be just three days of shooting. Just one of them should be the three days, the other three just one or two. Everything is going to be shot in Stoke-on-Trent. Around the Staffordshire University and its surroundings.
We are going to listen a woman reading a letter that she is writing to her died husband, telling him how horrible her life has become in the last eight years because of technology. At the same time, we are going to see images of her daily life. Nothing is as it used to be when she was young. People are that involved in technology that have forgotten how real relationships work, the call friends people the have never been with. They are aware of what is happening around the world, however they don’t even notice about what is happening just around them because they can’t lift their eyes from their mobile phones even for a second.
My goal is to send a message to the people of something that is actually happening even if we are not aware.
Best regards,
Leire

Irish Startup Film Project
Hi There,
I’m writing as we’re looking to get in touch with some drama/film students who might be interested in working on a project for an Irish startup. We’re launching a new website in the coming days and we’re hoping to find some actors/filmmakers who would be interested in getting involved in filming an advert.
The plan is to create a 1/1:20minute minute video showcasing 3 parody products for the site. This would be a very simple shoot, but it might be a good opportunity for someone looking to build a portfolio.
If you have any questions please feel free to get in touch, and I look forward to hearing from you. danielle@girlcrew.com

Casting Call - Northern Film School
My name is Niklas Springer and I’m a student at the Northern Film School at Leeds Beckett University. We’re currently in our second year and will be producing a drama. With that, we would like to know if actors of your acting society would be keen to be part of a short-film production.
To briefly summarise, this short-film is a dark-comedy about 4 elderly women in a nursing home bickering over the attention of their male nurse, Santiago. Out of the 4 women, 1 of them is an outcast who ultimately ‘wins’ Santiago’s undivided attention through her witty plots.
It will be a 3-day shoot from 11-13 Dec. If anyone's interested, please let us know by the 21st of November until 12:00.
For further details, please see the Cast Breakdown and Script below.

Berliner Festspiele / Theatertreffen Stückemarkt / Worldwide Open Call for New Theatre Texts and Performances
| Open Call Theatertreffen Stückemarkt 2019
Dear theatre makers, artists and playwrights,
The open call for Theatertreffen Stückemarkt 2019 has just started and for the first time in our 40 year history, we are inviting artists worldwide to submit their latest theatre text or performance. Under the heading “What happens after the protest?” Stückemarkt is searching for work that goes beyond descriptions of a status quo, imagines possible futures and seeks new forms of artistic-activist interference. We are particularly interested in young authors and artists who explore new narrations and perspectives and develop innovative artistic languages. From among the submissions Stückemarkts jury of renowned international artists will select a total of five texts/performances to be presented as part of Theatertreffen 2019.
Every year in May Theatertreffen, the most important German theatre festival, convenes theatre makers, journalists and guests from around the globe in Berlin. Since 1978 Theatertreffen’s Stückemarkt has been an integral part of the festival. As the oldest initiative for promoting contemporary playwriting in German-speaking countries – and as of 2012 also performance art – it has been successfully engaged in the long-term support and development of playwrights and performance artists for over 40 years. Stückemarkt is a forum for exchange between international play¬wrights, performance artists, theatre-makers, festival curators, publishers and critics.
This year’s Stückemarkt jury are: Mette Ingvartsen (choreographer and dancer, Brussels), Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (playwright, New York), Amir Reza Koohestani (director and playwright, Teheran), Wiebke Puls (actress, Munich) and Maria Nübling (dramaturge and head of Stückemarkt, Berlin).
We would be very happy, if you could please pass on the open call to playwrights and artists who might be interested in submitting their work. You’ll find more information about the application criteria in the open call on our website both in German and English.
Further information may be found in this document Theatertreffen-Stueckemarkt-2019-OpenCall-EN.pdf

Backwell Playhouse New Members Wanted
The Playhouse can be found at the heart of the community of Backwell. Our aim is to advance the education of the public in the Arts, in particular the Arts of Drama and Literature. We achieve this with our hugely successful theatre company and thriving film club. We welcome external companies to our theatre, such as the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, as well as delighting in seeing future generations of performers by hosting a children’s theatre school, AliCaTs.
The success of the Playhouse is entirely driven by the commitment of our hard-working volunteers including those who run the bar at our events, the backstage crew at performances or films, and anyone who helps maintain the buildings and grounds. Ultimately, all activities at the Playhouse happen because of the work of the Management Committee, who are also all volunteers.
The committee has seen a number of changes in the last few years, with some members either finishing or looking to step down from their roles. We remain hugely indebted to everyone who joins the committee and gives their time and expertise to the Playhouse.
However, there are now opportunities for new members to join our team, get involved in running the Playhouse and to bring in new ideas to take the theatre forward. If anyone would like to join the Management Committee, we want to hear from you.
We have some specific roles that need to be filled: Chairperson, Treasurer and Premises Manager, although if you have any other skills to offer the committee, we would welcome your involvement. The commitment to the Playhouse would be a minimum of one committee meeting every two months as well as the AGM; there may be some further work to be actioned from those meetings. Our main criteria is that you are passionate about helping the Playhouse stay an important part of life in Backwell.
If you would like to find out more about being part of the Backwell Playhouse Management Committee, please contact:-
Jon Coupe on 0797 422 3081, or by email at mailinglist@backwellplayhouse.co.uk, who will happily answer any questions you may have. Alternatively, please talk to a committee member at any Playhouse event.
We would also be interested in hearing from anyone who may want to help out at the Playhouse, but not as part of the committee. We always need volunteers to help with the Playhouse: to be part of our Front of House team, our maintenance crew, backstage team or even performing!

The Island with Bear Grylls
Hello,
I am currently working on the new series of Channel 4's Bafta winning The Island with Bear Grylls and we are looking for applicants for the show. I wondered if you would be able to help us spread the word and by sharing our flyer with your society, friends and family. (Please find attached a PDF and JPEG).
In previous series, the volunteers were stripped of all the comforts of civilisation, and cast away on a remote deserted island. They filmed themselves, and shared their raw and exhilarating story of survival. This year there is also a prize.
We are looking for people who are fit and able to participate, of all ages (18+), each with their unique skillset, from a variety of backgrounds and professions who are confident in their ability to thrive but they do not need any experience in adventure or survival pursuits to participate. We will cover reasonable pre-agreed loss of earnings for everyone who participates.
To apply, please go to www.theislandwithbeargrylls.com
As well as a trailer for a previous series: www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_W_7k9KpkA

Mirror Project: Volunteer Procession Walkers Wanted
Wednesday 10 October 2018
Mirror Project: Smoothing towards Utopia
Han Bing
Chinese artist Han Bing will lead a public procession from Manchester Cathedral, through the city, ending at HOME. With each member of the procession wearing the flags of different nations worn draped around their shoulders, the artist addresses the question of how to smooth the conflicts between our individual identities and our role as a member of a community - or a citizen of a country - without erasing the differences that make us unique. As nationalist politics are on the rise across the world, Han Bing asks, who has the right to belong? And what must be erased or assimilated in order to become part of a collective?
If you would like to be involved in the procession, we welcome you with open arms. Please email asiatriennialmcr@gmail.com with the subject heading ‘Smoothing toward Utopia’ and tell us a bit about yourself. Attach a picture if you can, so we can see who you are
Han Bing grew up in a small rural village in China, now based in Beijing, he is an artist who works across performance, painting, photography and installation.
Smoothing Towards Utopia is supported by the Confucius Institute at the University of Manchester.

Zombie Apocalypse drama opportunity
We are a small, Sheffield-based organisation, organising regular themed fun-runs/family events. We held Sheffield's first Santa Run last December - it was featured on ITV's Calendar (you can see it here) and have held a large number of events since. They're always a huge amount of fun, and always raise money for local and national charities.
In October, we are hosting the "Zombie Apocalypse Sunset Screamer" 5km and 10km race, and we wondered if any of your members/colleagues would like the opportunity to come along and be Zombies for us!
Basically, we need a dozen or more people to dress as zombies, to lurk at the 1km, 2km, 3km and 4km points along the route, and to leap out at runners and try to tear one of their three 'life tags' from the elastic belt each runner will wear. The event starts at 5.45pm on 27th October, and should be completely done & dusted by 8pm. All zombies will be richly rewarded with homemade cake, a glass of fizz/bottle of beer, and of course a bespoke Zombie Apocalypse medal. We'll reimburse travelling expenses of course, and the event should be masses of fun.
If you'd like any further information, please feel free to email admin@runforit.today or to call me (Mel) on 07710 260 240.

We would LOVE to shoot some scenes that are more "directed" and staged and need some local Scottish actors. We are not looking for super professionals, we are more interessted in people that have fun playing/ acting.

Yr unig ofynion yw bod rhaid iddyn nhw fod yn 18+ ac yn siarad Cymraeg.
A fyddai'n bosibl ichi ledaenu'r neges ymhlith eich aelodau, efallai ar draws eich rhwydwaith - unrhyw grwpiau, tudalennau neu fforymau sydd gennych? Rwyf wedi atodi'r poster os ydych am ddefnyddio hynny hefyd. Mae croeso i chi roi e-bost imi neu ffoniwch fi ar 02921 675 022 os hoffech drafod neu os oes gennych unrhyw argymhellion. Yn ogystal, os oes gan unrhyw un ddiddordeb, mae croeso iddynt gysylltu â mi yn uniongyrchol. Byddwn yn gwerthfawrogi hynny’n fawr.
Diolch o galon
Hi there, I’m Gareth Rhys Thomas from Nimble Dragon television company in Cardiff. We are currently working on a new S4C show called Holiday Phonebook and looking for potential contributors.
The idea of the series is that a contributor gets to go on a free holiday BUT the only catch is that 2 other people are selected to go with them, unbeknown to them, from their contacts on their phone or social media. They will then have to organize activities against each other to see who will be able to organize the best day with the winner receiving £ 500 towards an ideal holiday! We welcome applications from all ages and backgrounds - it's a light-hearted, family-friendly, fun programme!
We would absolutely love it if you could recommend potential contributors for the series. We are looking for interesting, confident and fun characters that do not take themselves too seriously. They must be able to speak Welsh and of any age over 18! We are keen to hear from people all over Wales, all ages and so on, who might be interested in taking part. The only criteria is that they must be 18+ and Welsh speakers.
If anyone is interested, they are welcome to contact me directly. I would really appreciate that.
Thanks so much for this,
Gareth Rhys Thomas

Carfest for Children in Need
Hi! I'm contacting you on behalf of Carfest for Children in Need and we are looking for some Disney Frozen characters for our Carnival and would involve a total of 30 minutes performance.
It takes place at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire on Sunday 26th August.
We would need an Elsa, Ana, Olaf, Sven and Kristoff
It’s for a parade so all you’d need to do is to find a costume of one the characters and then be part of the carnival! Waving to the crowds etc so no rehearsal time is necessary. Just show up and look like Elsa/Ana/Sven/Olaf/Kristofer etc!
We are ideally looking for volunteers, but they can come to the festival and see the music etc as a thank you!

Casting local acting/presenting talent in the North Staffordshire/South Cheshire region
I am looking to Audition for Live Broadcast Presenters, a little different than most of the roles I can see on your site however we are keen to find some excellent local talent for our online service as we aim to continue to be one of the most prominent (and best) local employers.
A bit about the role;
It is a Full Time Job – salary starts at £22,000 + 20% bonus (plus added incentives such as Healthcare and discount scheme).
The role will be based in Newcastle Under Lyme in our brand new broadcast studios. Currently on a 3 on, 3 off shift pattern.
Strictly aged 18 and over with energy, drive, enthusiasm and bags of personality.
With over 51 nationalities working in our business, we welcome applicants of all ethnicities and genders.
The programme consists of Casino programming, for one of the world's largest and most recognisable brands, as the face of our product, you will not only present the game and provide commentary, you will have the opportunity to interact with players.
You’ll have the freedom to build the conversation in your own areas of interest, whether it be about topics in the news/popular culture or your personal passions. However, you’ll also be intuitive, having the sixth-sense to know what your audience needs and keep them entertained. Aside from the presenting aspect to the role you will of course be working in a live online casino set, so you may need to provide explanations how the games work or provide guidance on any product related info.
Any inqueries or questions, can be directed to myself:
Matthew.simpson@miceanddice.com.
Kind Regards,
Matthew Simpson
Entertainment Producer
Mice and Dice Ltd.

CALL OUT FOR ACTORS, WRITERS! 16+ (NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE NESSECARY)
I am currently looking for people in Am Dram groups (to make it more a community feel) to take part in my final project for my Arts Award Qualification. (Actors and writers in the Derby/Derbyshire area prefered) more information is below.
Thank you, Alex Smith.
Here is some information about my final project for my Arts Award qualification I am studying for. I'm putting together a variety theatre week and I'm looking actors and writers of 16+ (parts for all) Rehearsals are every wednesday and Thursday (with one Friday) on every 1st and 3rd week of the month from October and the show is 1st Feb - 7th Feb 2019 Below is a brief outline of what I will be doing, is below I am looking for pieces of writing to be submitted so they can be performed by a group of actors. (If you are interested in acting aswell please say!) Please email any submission/interest to me at alexsmith1742@gmail.com please try to submit pieces that involve minimal props and stage scenery. If applying to be an actor please state your availabilty in your email.
I want to do a week long performance variety week with something happening each day for about 1 long performance (all submissions are open themed but each day has a type of genre of theatre to be performed.) Monday is called Moan-a-log Monday which is monologues, so they need to be written to address another character on stage. These can be between 2-7 minutes long. Then there is Turn it up Tuesday, this is a music night so no writing needed for that unless you are a musician who performs. Wired Wednesdays are radio plays/journalism/news/non fiction suitable for radio (but shall be adjusted slightly to be performed on a stage for the night by use of immersive theatre) If submitting a radio play no longer than half an hour. To you Thursday is silioquays so they differ from monologues in the fact that they are discussion/interaction with the audience only (again 2-7 minutes long). Fantasy Friday is fictional short stories. (Up to 10 pages long). Scene it Saturday is 5-15 minute long sketches/mini plays/improv and the like and finally Sonnet Sunday is for poetry, which can be up to 5 pages long (in any form, sonnets, rhymes, haiku's etc). You can submit as many things as you want and I shall be choosing which are to be performed through out the week.
I do plan on posting these to Facebook as well after the event so they will be recorded as well where possible and I am hoping to make it a regular slot. If anyone has any questions please ask. Deadline for submissions at the moment is 10th September.
Have a lovely day!

Ahoy.
We have put together a first class family event for the good people of Suffolk.
We are hoping to raise 5000 for East Anglias Children's Hospices. And Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. Who have promised to ring-fence the monies raised for the Suffolk area.
We have put together a fully immersive experience for the paying public and have utilised our reenactment contacts to pull together from all over the land and from 6 societies 100 reenactors.
Portraying the crowns forces as well as pirate. Civilians and Georgian ladies.
Thus is pirating at its best. Held in the fort and with the towns blessing it is getting behind us. BUT we still need help.

If you feel you can help us in anyway please feel free to contact me.
We have the mayor coming. hopefully BBC radio Suffolk. The event will soon be going to press and we can give you good exposure as well as providing the platform for yourselves.
We would like to include you in our programme. You can reach me. By way of return at stevehansen62@msn.com Or call me 07470405752.
May the blessings of the sea go with you

It is a paid course with occasional periods of discount and I think a helpful outlet for those who have a good idea they want to develop or a project they want to run.

Invitation to a very special workshop opportunity (a Boeing 747)
My company is running a very unique training operation on-board a Boeing 747 and we are looking for people to fill seats. Due to the timings of the event, there will be a 6 hour period whereby your drama group can run your own workshop for your own students and members on the aircraft. We don't mind if you act, dance, sing or just think that it would be a good video, photo or PR exercise! There will be an opportunity to act as extras (though this is not mandatory) and chance to take part in something straight out of Hollywood, including special effects.
The event will take place on the 11th & 12th August. This is relatively short notice, but there are no minimum number requirements to take part and the fee per head is low for a venue which would normally costs thousands to hire. We'd essentially like local drama groups to be able to benefit from this and run a class or workshop onbaord. This really is a case of "the more the merrier".
If this is something that may of interest to your organisation, please don't hesitate to contact me. We'd ideally like to get any expression of interest in reasonable time before the event.
Kind regards,
Dan Evans

GMDF 2017-2018 Full Length Festival Winners
First of all many thanks to all those of you who supported the Awards Night dinner on Saturday. It was great to see everyone so thanks again for your support.
None of this would happen without the dedicated work of our adjudicators Ian Taylor, David Carlile, Carmel Bird and Nigel Machin and the Board is very grateful for their support.
As Sue said in her opening speech, it's important not to lose sight of the achievement attained in receiving a nomination. The standards are high and yes it's fabulous to win but it remains fantastic to be nominated in the first place so huge congratulatios to ALL of you, really well done.
Congratulations to Summerseat Players for lifting the Drama Shield for their production of Moon Over Buffalo.
Onwards to next season now........
The full list of Nominations and Winners is here.
Thank you

New ITV gameshow looking for action movie super fans!
We are producing a new game show for ITV and hoped that this would be of interest to any members of your group. Take The Tower is the ultimate film fan’s game show where we take teams of four action movie super fans and test their film knowledge and put them through a series of mental and physical challenges inspired by some of the most iconic scenes in nineties and noughties action films.
We are currently looking for teams from Newcastle and the surrounding area to take part and hopes that this may appeal to any of the actors, staff or audiences in your company. All expenses will be paid for our contestants and there’s a chance to win cash prizes and a holiday. We are filming the series in South Africa in late June 2018 and I hoped that you may be able to help us spread the word amongst the company, on your social media or possibly anyone who fits the bill? I appreciate that this is slightly leftfield and you receive many similar requests , however this is a great opportunity for like-minded friends to have some fun and win some cash, so hopefully it sounds appealing.
Here is a link to our application form for your reference. If anyone thinks they may fit the bill I’d be delighted to hear from you.
www.itv.com/beontv/shows/takethetower
Many thanks in advance for any help you and your fellow movie fans could provide in helping spread the word.
Yours faithfully,
Jonny Francis

Cressrelles offer the One Act play "Jump Off" available as a free pdf file
Hi Friends,
Here’s another old play released as a free pdf format.
Jump Off by John Waterhouse is a “high” comedy in one act. This hugely popular play features two characters who meet on a high window ledge, ostensibly with the aim of committing suicide! This seems a strange subject for a comedy but the sparks that fly between Pauline and Aubrey as they “face up” to each other are hilarious. Mother, a Priest and and a Police Inspector all do their best to talk Pauline off the ledge. But all is not quite as it seems.
Pauline is in her late teens, whilst Aubrey is in his early twenties. The other three characters can be of any age over 40. Running time is approximately 40 minutes.
If you would like a pdf, please email me back. As always, your feedback is appreciated. Don’t forget to browse our full catalogue of one-act plays (available for free from our website www.cressrelles.co.uk) if you are looking for your next production. I am happy to help in any way I can.
Best wishes,
Simon Smith - Cressrelles simon@cressrelles.co.uk

New TV Show - Channel 4 - Flirty Dancing
I’m working on an exciting, new dancing / dating show for Channel 4, with Ashley Banjo. In the show we will be matching single people with someone who we think are compatible with them, they will have a spectacular first date in the form of a choreographed dance routine. This will be learned separately, so that the first time the couple meet is when they are dancing together.
We don’t need dance professionals, just people who are willing to give it a go!
Here is a link to our recent press release: www.secondstarproductions.co.uk
And our Twitter page: @wearesecondstar
Email: dating@secondstarproductions.co.uk or call: 020 7202 2319
Successful applicants will need to be available to commit to up to a week of filming. All applicants must be over 18 and have unrestricted right to live and work in the UK. Closing date for applications is 27th April 2018.

Japanese Tv wants to hire actress to play as herself - 09018 Tv Tokyo
My name is Teo, I work for an italian company that provides location scouting and support for Japanese televisions filming in Europe.
I am representing a Japanese TV Network producing a travel program.
It is basically an hybrid between a Reality Show and a Tv advertisement. A small tv crew of 4 people travel around the world to introduce to the Japanese audience interesting people and places.
For the next episode, scheduled to be filmed in UK, the production would like to find and follow around a young and aspiring actress (between 20 and 30) for a couple of days, showing her daily life. We need essentially three scenes to shoot: In the place where she normally practices and does rehearsal with her amateur theater group, some filming in the city centre, and filming at her place. At her home we would need ideally to film her together with her family, otherwise with her boyfriend/husband.
To put it simply, I would need to hire an actress to play as herself.
Filming may take between one and three days, in late may. Compensation is 400 pounds per day.
If you are interested please send an email to teo@mmms.it and I will provide the rest of the details.

Looking for a Drama Group for Low Budget Videos
I am a singer songwriter/ storyteller looking for a drama group who is interested in making low budget videos to act out the lyrics to some of my songs. To start with the link below is a song from my next album which I think would make a very funny video.
www.nemojames.com/somebody-stole-my-hole
This is not my normal style but possible productions of future videos are included in the document found here:
www.nemojames.com/lyrics-for-videos.pdf
All I need is a lot of raw video footage which I can edit in my studio. No special equipment is required.
It doesn’t involve much commitment as filming could probably completed in a day or two as I can do the rest and there would be no dialogue. I will write a storyboard to work from but will welcome any input. For the future I am also happy to write songs around any production you are interested in making.
If you think you might be interested in this kind of project please contact me at nemo@nemojames.com
There are more details at my website www.nemojames.com

Volunteers to be a part of a NHS Falls Training Event Port Vale Football Club on 19 March at 5:30 to 8:30
I was wondering could anyone possibly help?
Staffordshire and SOT NHS Partnership Trust has a scheduled Falls Awareness Training Event at Port Vale Football Club on 19 March at 5:30 to 8:30 for Community District Nursing, Therapists and nursing students. With the introduction of this event we would really like to provide our staff with an interactive falls awareness training programme as a new way of learning. We would like to provide a scenario on stage where a person’s home is unsafe and they are unwell and need NHS intervention and treatment to remain in their home and to avoid a hospital admission.
We were wondering if there are any volunteer actors who would like to actively take part in this NHS training programme for our staff members. By a volunteer developing the scenario of a patient being unwell and falling as we believe this would be a really innovative way of training our staff members.
I really look forward to hearing from you
Kind Regards

Casting Kids for fun online film - leading retail brand
Hello,
I’m a casting director working on a project for a leading fashion retailer produced by Black Sheep Studios.
We are looking for children for lead and background roles. We would like to cast a broad range in accents and would be happy to accept self tapes if you have any children at your school or group that you think would be interested. We are looking for able and non-able bodied children from all ethnicities.
Due to licenses we are up against it with time so we will need to receive clips by this coming Thursday morning, which I appreciate is short notice.
The clips can be shot from a phone and can be WhatsApped to me (07535 52643) if that is easiest, if not We Transfer is fine. Just 30 seconds to 1 minute would be great, it’s so we can get a sense of the kids personalities.
Does your child love experiments?
Are they playful, inquisitive and imaginative with a thirst to understand how things work?
We are looking for kids to feature in this fun online film for a leading retailer.
If you would like to put them forward we just require a short clip to get a sense of their personalities

Casting Call for Leeds Young Actors
My name is Alexandra, I am writing to you from University of the Arts London BA Film and Television. I am the Casting director for a short student film “A Mother’s Touch”.
We will be casting during the period of the next month and are looking to collaborate with some of your groups. The projects are non-equity and the cast payment only covers expenses. If any of your groups would be interested, please ask them to contact me and we will gladly forward more details.
Here are the character breakdowns and a brief synopsis of the project.
“A Mother’s Touch” is a 10-minute short film, which follows a journey of a young man as he tries to come to terms with his mother’s recent passing.
Rough dates:
5/6 days between 29th (March) - 8th April
- £60 per day for Chris, expenses only for the chaperone/parent.
- Exprences for all other roles
Chris, 15, is small for his age and frustrated with his lack of development, this leads him to reject his parents in an attempt to fast track himself to manhood. However, once his mother abruptly passes away, Chris must first come to terms with this and accept the new structure of the family before he can mature. We require a lead actor that possesses very youthful features and is able to speak in a Yorkshire accent.
Male (playing age: 12-17) from United Kingdom
Acting experience: Previous unpaid speaking roles - Previous paid speaking roles
Luke, an 18 year old man from Leeds
Luke attempts to take care of the rest of the family in the mother’s absence and throughout the father’s grief. Whilst he struggles to cooperate with Chris, a conflict grows between them, which eventually results in a large clash once Chris returns Luke’s ID after visiting a club, underage. We require an actor who can perform speaking in a Yorkshire accent.
Males, aged 18 to 25 from United Kingdom
Minimum Acting experience: Extra
Mother, a 45 year old woman from Leeds
The mother is shown through several past scenes within the film, which show the relationship she and Chris shared. The mother is understanding and gentle but whilst she is someone that helped keep the family together, she was also the main bread winner. The actor must be able to speak in a Yorkshire accent.
Females, aged 35 to 55 from United Kingdom
Acting experience: Previous unpaid speaking roles - Previous paid speaking roles
Father, a 50 year old man from Leeds
The father is grief stricken for the entirety of the story and is largely cared for by Luke. Towards the end of the film, Chris returns home and the two build a connection which they had struggled to form even before the mother’s death. This is a non speaking role, however, the emotions character are protrayed through body language in several scenes, especially with scenes interacting with Chris and Luke.
Males, aged 40 to 60 from United Kingdom
Minimum Acting experience: No previous acting experience
Kind regards,
Alexandra Malanicheva

My name is Nick from CPL Productions; a TV production company based in London.
We are currently producing a brand new TV comedy run through with comedian Jimmy Carr and I thought I would get in touch to see if this is something anyone from any Merseyside Drama Group would be interested in taking part in?
The show will see award-winning comedian Jimmy Carr joined by celebrity guests before handing responsibility over to you, to ask the guests anything you like. No question is off-limit.
We are looking for people who can really speak their mind, people who would really enjoy chatting to celebrities and those who are unafraid to ask quite personal questions. We would love for some comedians to come along and ask Jimmy and his guests a question, in what is sure to be a fun evening of comedy.
The show is a non-broadcast run through, meaning it won’t be aired on television this time, but if it becomes a series we may well get back in touch with you to be involved again.
Please follow this link www.shortaudition.com/public-inquiry to apply.

1916: The Red-Letter Play
Auditions (short Easter Rising play)
I am putting on a play written from the Easter Rising finale of my second Suitcases magic history adventure book, The Red-Letter Day.
1916: The Red-Letter Play
It will be staged on Easter Monday next, April 2nd 2018, at 3pm at Naomh Barrog GAA Club in Kilbarrack. It's been on there twice before.
It lasts about 40 minutes without an interval.
There are details and reviews about last year's performance on www.spmcardle.com
Please like my Facebook page and share the post about this play, that would be fantastic.
|
The plot:
After Jenny the Adventuress introduces her fantastic time-travelling journeys, the action whizzes back to 1916 – from Kilmainham Gaol to Dublin Castle, and then to a nail-biting finale in the GPO, with lots of Dublin landmarks in between. Can Jenny and her guide, O’Flahertie (who might just be a famous writer!), save the day for Constance Markievicz, Padraig Pearse… and the historic Proclamation of the Irish Republic?
Actors needed:
* Jenny the Adventuress - she is 15 or 16 in the book;
* O'Flahertie - a young Oscar Wilde starting Trinity (he was 17 or 18 in real life when he did this). O'Flahertie also briefly plays a cranky printer of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic;
* Padraig Pearse (he was 36 in 1916 but there is flexibility given the context of it being a magical play - although best if he looks a bit older than Jenny and O'Flahertie);
* Constance Markievicz (she was 49 in 1916 but the same flexibility applies).
There is very little scenery needed as the backdrop is done by PowerPoint and some of these slides ask the audience to participate, which worked very well last time.
Anyone interested in acting, producing, directing or helping out in any other way please contact me?
Many, many thanks,
Síle/SP 087-2224060

Casting Call: Extras needed for filming 12th Feb
Hello,
I am writing from The Moment Content Company as we have an upcoming shoot on Monday 12th February in North West London that we are currently looking to cast extras for. We were wondering whether you know of anyone who would be interested in taking part?
We are looking for extras to make up a football crowd for our commercial piece which is being shot for a well-known brand. Usage on the film is still being confirmed but it is likely that the film will sit online and also appear in print media too.
If anyone is interested in taking part, please do send me an email.
Thanks,

OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY HENRY VIII
Molesey Musical Theatre (MMT) had a complete cast for our forthcoming production of "Henry - The life and loves of King", but due to unforseen family commitments, our Henry VIII has had to pull out.
This has left us with a golden opportunity for someone to step into the Big Man's shoes while he deals with all his wives.
'Henry - The Life and Loves of a King' takes place at the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse, Walton on Thames from 13th - 16th June 2018. This is a new musical based on the life of Henry VIII. It was initially performed 4 years ago at the Barn Theatre, West Molesey.

Details of previous NHP productions can be seen at www.hardyonline.org.
Rehearsals will be Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons in Dorchester, commencing 12th April. CASTING CALL _ VOICE OVER ACTORS FOR 'A CHRISTMAS CAROL'
Hi I know this is an early one but I am looking to cast roles for 'A Christmas Carol'. I wondered if you would mind advertising this for me as it would be great to get some actors in this group involved. In order for you to audition however, you will need access to a home recording studio with a good mic.
I want as much time as possible to get this piece done to as near perfection as I can. This will be aired on my Radio Show in December 2018. We will be using a script from 1939 and that is the feel I want for the production, proper good old fashioned Radio Drama. The production was originally Narrated by Orson Wells and Scrooge was portrayed by Lionel Barrymore.
It will be a NON PAID ROLE for the actors, however full credit will be given at the start and end of the production which as I say will be aired on Radio.
I am taking auditions for all parts, which will be as follows:
Ebenezer Scrooge Old and young
Bob Cratchit
Child (Christmas Carol singer) can also play boy at the end to fetch Turkey
Fred (Scrooge's Nephew)
Gentleman (Collector for charity)
Ghost of Marley
Ghost of Christmas Past
Ghost of Christmas Present
Fezziwig (Scrooges old boss)
Belle (Scrooges old love interest)
Belles husband
generic girl
Mrs Cratchit
Martha Cratchit
Tiny Tim
Generic men x 2
Some of the parts may be able to be cast to one person i.e the charity collector may also play Belles husband for example. As long as the voice characterisation is slightly different.
If you are wishing to audition for a role please can you send the audition to garethsevern@yahoo.com by 1st February 2017. Can all audition pieces please be sent as either MP3 or WAV file clearly labelled with your name and character you wish to audition for i.e Gareth Severn - Fred.
For the audition purpose only please can you send the file as though it were a finished piece i.e VOCAL ONLY, REMOVE BACKGROUND NOISE etc. I wish to hear the quality of your recordings etc. I would also like the piece to be a few lines long not just a word or two.
At this moment in time I am not too worried what reading you send me, just as long as you voice it with the character you wish to audition for.
This will be produced by Studio Severn so if you have any enquiries please direct them to:
www.facebook.com/studiosevern7
I look forward to receiving your auditions.
Many thanks Gareth Severn

Casting Call for Short Film
My name is Jeff Donnelly, I am a final year film student at Griffith College Dublin. I am directing/producing a 15 minute short comedy film, filmed in Dublin, on 2nd, 3rd, 4th March 2018, and am looking for three roles to be cast in the film. If anyone would be interested, the story outline, character briefs, audtion and shooting dates are listed below. As this is a student film, it is unpaid.
Story Outline
A comedy, this 15 minute short film ‘Moonshine’ tells the story of Sharko and Will, two young men who are doing nothing with their lives. When they find themselves in a sticky situation, Sharko and Will must make their own moonshine for Sharko’s fierce aunt Big Kate, who is not someone to mess with.
Character Briefs
Sharko – Male, mid-twenties
Sharko is a bit of a slacker. Although he lacks any real direction in his life, he will happily put all his energy into stupid ideas. Likes to take risks.
Will – Male, Mid-twenties
Although no saint, Will has some sense on his shoulders. Does not like to take risks, but is easily swayed into doing things he doesn’t want to. Not a genius, but above average intelligence.
Big Kate – Female, 40s-50s
Sharko’s fierce, no nonsense aunt, Big Kate has a tough reputation. The owner of a ‘shady’ pub, Big Kate is known around town as someone not to mess with, or else. Her main focus in life is to make as much money as possible.
Audition Dates – 27th/28th Jan (at Griffith College Dublin)
Shooting Days – 2nd, 3rd, 4th March 2018
If anyone is interested, please respond with a headshot (or recent photograph), A CV (with or without acting experience), full contact details, availability over shooting days and audition days (as listed above).
Kind Regards, Jeff Donnelly.

Murder Mystery
Hi,
My name is Hayley Sutton.
I am a event's management student at Liverpool John Moores university, and during this academic year myself and others have to stage live events.
My group's idea is to produce a 1920s murder mystery night, for this to be successful we would need to have a live performance, of our story unraveling.
Our team name is eventcatchers, we are made up of 5 university students, at Liverpool John Moores. The event is being produced to raise money for YPAS (young persons advisory service) in Liverpool. So far my team and I have been able to acquire the venue for free, and caterers are willing to offer us a discounted price for their service.
The event will be held at Bridewell Studios. 101 Prescot Street, Liverpool L7 8UL.
Unfortunately any actors we will work with will not be paid, due to us raising money for charity.
The event will be held on Friday the 13th in April.
There is a facebook page for more information, titled event catchers. Any email enquirers can be made to eventcatchers75@gmail.com
Thank you for your help.
Many thanks,
Hayley Sutton.

Could you be our leading lady?
Thank you to everyone who auditioned for Quasimodo, we have a great cast but we are still missing one of our leading ladies.
We are looking for females over 40 to play older Paquette. She is bent on revenge on the gypsies who stole her child 20 years ago. She is a large part with several songs and a lot of stage time.
We rehearse on Friday evenings at Hurst Community Centre in Sidcup with the show being performed at the Bob Hope Theatre, Eltham 25-28 April.
